This was a second Umberto Tozzi track that she recorded ("Gloria" being the first). Always liked it.
I had (have?) the Self Control album on vinyl.

Back in the day, there was a radio station (KCLD) that aired a show called "Full Tracking". It was a show where they played the complete album. The downside was it aired at midnight, kinda late during the school week.
Self Control was one of those albums on "Full Tracking". Of course, any good listener would record these albums off-air on their handy dandy stereo cassette recorder with a 8 track recorder, tuner and turntable if they stayed up late.
Before this one was done on Solid Gold or released as a single, I heard it several times from the OFF-AIR recording and no need to buy the album because of my favorite radio station at the time. My cassettes were free because Dad would bring them home from work at 3M.

I didn't know this until now, Ti Amo means "I Love You" in Italian.

I've always loved the arrangement on this one. It's fairly non-stop, so it's hard to distinguish the song structure. And the way her vocal builds while the background vocals get more complex is pretty impressive.
