I ,for one, remember Laura's version first and Cher as remaking Laura Branigan. The same goes for "Forever Young", "Power Of Love" & "How Am I Suppose To Live Without You". It all depends on which version you heard first and how big it was to you and probably your age. Were you alive or were you into music when Laura was the core of the Pop format.
To me, Laura was first while Alphaville, Celine Dion & Michael Bolton were second.

I always found the production bad on this. Cher's version is much better.
