OK. I wasn't fighting with him. And "don't forget the next time" was a joke. Don't you read the entire message? I like HolidayGuy, too. He helped me when I started on pulse, at the same time you started. But he's not the one, everyone here MAKE this forum, including me and you. I was messing with ya OK, I really thought you are asking what the f**k I was. But after I saw it was a joke.

Such a shame that Be Without You and Shake It Off never hit #1 on Hot 100. Having seen this I'm now curious about a slew of other songs. Is there a source somewhere where we can see each artist's biggest audience numbers for their respective songs?

Week on iTunes ending with:
Somebody That I Used to Know : 126% We Are Young : 67%
Second week seems pretty safe, probably above 450k, maybe even 500k again.

Those posted numbers differ from the BDS list that Billboard posted. "Shake it Off's" BDS peak was in the 160m-167m range, so that's just outside the top 10 in the all-formats airplay era (December 1998-present).

That would be over a 40million audience difference between BDS & Mediabase. That's insane.

I don't have a good source, but I believe these are the highest peaks going by Mediabase: "We Belong Together" (255 million), "Irreplaceable" (233 million), "Shake It Off" (218 million), "Check On It" (206 million), "Let Me Love You" (203 million) and "Be Without You" (201 million). I wish we had a more comprehensive list, either for Mediabase or BDS.

Thanks for the comments. Since we don't have credible sources for SIO and COI, I will put their figure around 165M until we get official numbers. WBT's 223M I believe was reported as BDS figure. Biggest weekly airplay according to audience impression (Nielsen BDS) 212.1 million, "We Belong Together," Mariah Carey, July 9, 2005 196.3 million, "Irreplaceable," Beyoncé, Jan. 20, 2007 192.5 million, "No One," Alicia Keys, Dec. 22, 2007 189.6 million, "Let Me Love You," Mario, Feb. 5, 2005 175.6 million, "Gold Digger," Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx, Oct. 22, 2005 172.8 million, "Yeah!," Usher featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris, April 17, 2004 172.3 million, "My Boo," Usher and Alicia Keys, Nov. 20, 2004 171.4 million, "Be Without You," Mary J. Blige, April 1, 2006 170.2 million, "In Da Club," 50 Cent, March 29, 2003 167.7 million, "Dilemma," Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland, Sept. 7, 2002 165~ million, "Shake It Off," Mariah Carey, Sept. 10, 2005 (?) 165~ million, "Check On It," Beyonce, Jan. 31, 2006 (?) 162+ million, "Live Your Life," T.I. feat. Rihanna, Oct. 2008 (?) 159+ million, "Love The Way You Lie," Eminem feat. Rihanna, Sept. 2010 158+ million, "Rolling in the Deep," Adele, June 30, 2011 155+ million, "Give Me Everything," Pitbull feat. Ne-yo, July 2011 152+ million, "We Found Love," Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris, Jan. 21, 2011 149.4 million, "California Gurls," Katy Perry, July 2010 148+ million, "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah Carey, January 2006 (?) 148+ million, "Last Friday Night," Katy Perry, August 2011 (?) 148+ million, "Someone Like You," Adele, November 2011 (?) 147+ million, "Party Rock Anthem," LMFAO, August 11, 2011 143+ million, "Set Fire To The Rain," Adele, February 2012 140 million, "OMG," Usher, June 2010 What other songs had 140+ million AI (Nielsen BDS)? Well there's basically a 40 million AI difference between BDS & Mediabase for fun right now... The difference was about 30 M last week, still huge, it's possible fun might be around 140 million on BDS airplay for this week, which is mighty impressive for a song with a such a different sound for what's usually played at radio.

I think you're remembering incorrectly. It crossed 200 mil AI on Mediabase but not BDS. "Irreplaceable" crossed 200 million AI on BDS as well. "Beyonce hits a new high Irreplaceable is now nearly inescapable. The Beyonce ballad collected its largest weekly total audience number yet -- 201.9 million audience impressions (number of plays on stations across the country times the number of people listening at the time of the plays). Only one song has ever topped that number in the four-plus-year history of this Nielsen BDS/Arbitron chart: Mariah Carey's We Belong Together, which topped out at 223.0 million in July '05 and exceeded Beyonce's high in six other weeks." from pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=news&action=display&thread=26032&page=2Coolness. For some reason I thought it had peaked at like 196 million. Very close, but 200M is up there with the ultra airplay smashes

It's not that crazy. The fact that they have different teams in making the survey for ratings, they use different sample population. In that case, it's inevitable to differ in final estimation. That's the basic error in statistics.

She had another #1 album and #1 song the next album though True, but the follow-up didn't even sell 1.5 million did it? That's a huge drop. And Touch My body was the only major hit...and it was a crap song, in my humble opinion.

For the purposes of Hot 100 Airplay, the official figure would be that which was for the Wednesday-Tuesday tracking period.
The larger the audience figures, the bigger the BDS/Mediabase discrepancy- and that was the case back in 2005, too.

Wonder how those cross genre smashes like "Beat It" and "Let's Go Crazy" (huge on rock, pop and r&b stations) would have fared audience-wise?
