Another song I heard on the April 19, 1975 AT40 chart on AT40: The 70's was Chicago's 1975 song "Harry Truman". Do you think this is considered a novelty hit or not?

Great song. While I can understand the question about it being a novelty hit, I would say no, it is not. I think the musical style was more to reinforce a point, and it is actually one of Chicago's more message-oriented hits.

On that AT40: The 70's rebroadcast of the April 19, 1975 AT40 episode, Casey Kasem mentioed "Harry Truman" sounded like a novelty hit.
