Adele's label had said there were no plans for a fifth single a couple months back, but plans sometimes change.

^ Yeah, it peaked around 61 mill before the changes when AI was lower.. And Boyfriend at 78 mill. I think you mean 68 mill for "Boyfriend." ;) No. 78 mill at its 3rd week. It was after the changes so, on BDS, it has the same as LYLALS, I guess.

Rumor Has It is dropping more rapidly than SFTTR. Why is that?

^I think people are disappointed. 'Cause there'll be no video, no performances, nothing till the summer, when she will release the final video from 21 and they said nothing more than that. I really hoped RHI would be, at least, top 10, but...

15. CARLY RAE JEPSEN - Call Me Maybe: 69.186 (+ 3.197) ▲ Where are the ones that told me it had no more appeal than a Bieber/Selena song hmm? Reveal yourselves, heauxes. Maybe you mean me? You were raging that it wasn't doing better so I said that most of the artists in this vein don't go much higher than this total. My point was it was already doing extremely well for its genre - anything higher is gravy. And now you're getting your gravy.

I wouldn't be surprised if payola was involved...it's iTunes position is low for this type of single.

I really hoped RHI would be, at least, top 10, but... We're not used to albums sellin in the 10m range anymore...you can't expect the same performance for a fourth Adele single as a fourth Katy or Rihanna single who sell a fraction of Adele. It has still done well, Top 20 on digital and over 100 million A.I.

I just noticed RHI has lost its bullet. I'm shocked. Looks like it will miss the Top 10 of the Hot 100.

How much as RHI already sold? I agree that you really cannot expect too much. Sure Rih and Katy and others get fourth singles that are hugely popular, but they cater to the normal radio sound much more and also only sell 1-2 million per cd. Adele has sold 9 million+ and is still selling around 100K per week.

Adele has sold 9 million+ and is still selling around 100K per week. RHI should be at ~1.4 million sold at the moment. By the end of the year/era it should have passed 2 million in sales, which is pretty respectable if you ask me! Considering the previous 3 singles have sold over 15 million digital copies between them and the album has sold over 9 million copies now.

I really hoped RHI would be, at least, top 10, but... You really think "people" pay that much attention to video, performances, etc. that they would give negative scores to radio? Seriously doubt it. If people like a song on the radio, that's all that matter. RHI had more than six months of being "out there" - via Glee and other outlets before hitting radio. If anything, it probably doesn't seem "new" to many listeners. Anyway, if the audience had anything to say about playlists, they would look more like iTunes.

With the high steady sales, Eric Church's "Springsteen" should probably be added to the list of daily updates. I think it's the highest ranked country track in the Billboard Hot 100 last week.

We're not talking about people like or dislike. I like the music, but we're talking about chart positions, when sales, video, performances and great audience on radio help it to climb up the charts.

Really irks me that Usher can get an easy smash hit on radio without big digital support or promo with a generic Swedish producer track (Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco, Shellback, etc etc...that clique), while Adam Lambert struggles to do over 5 million A.I.

Doesn't irk me. Usher has released dozens of hits. He was always going to get more out of the box airplay than Adam.

What kind of bullsh... Usher has 15 years in the industry. Usher > Adam. When Adam has a diamond album, that's when your outrage can be justified.

Adam Lambert's daya as a meaningful hitmaker appear to be behind him. With a couple notable exceptions AI finalists do not have exceptionally long careers at the top of the singles chart anyway.

Adam Lambert really only had one hit that struggled on pop radio and only hit the Billboard top 10 due to a sales spike from his AI performance.
Usher was the #1 all-formats artist of the last decade.
Not such a head-scratcher, brucelover.

I think we're gonna see another fairly static top 10... nobody's really budging.

^ It is pretty dull, isn't it? :/ Another week at #1 for Gotye with no real challengers even approaching. "Call Me Maybe" might not ever get the airplay to top the chart.

The Top 10 will be fairly static again this week. I can only hope Kelly Clarkson switches out with Train. It'll come down to sales I think. Train should be at about #10 or #11 for the week in sales... but I still think the airplay gap is too wide. And even then, who knows where streaming factors in.
