2012's Year To Date Thread:
pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gmn&action=display&thread=113279
This chart was calculated using an inverse ranking point system. Each week, the song at #1 was given 100 points, the song at #2 given 99 points, etc...
The results do not match the actual 2011 chart as much as I would have liked. For convenience, songs that gained 10 or more positions compared to the official year end chart are bolded while those that lost 10 or more positions are italiscized.
Songs that underperformed were usually
-#1 debuts ( Born this Way, Hold It Against Me, We R Who We R)
-Songs on the Hot 100 (especially in the top 10) at the end of the year ( Someone Like You, Moves Like Jagger, Pumped Up Kicks, Stereo Hearts)
-Songs that had a week or two are #1 but not more. (S&M, Last Friday Night, Raise Your Glass, Only Girl (In the World))
I'm working on a wieghted chart with 100 extra points for each week at #1 and 20 points for each week in the top 10. I'll try to have it posted tommorow.
Next week, I'll post a 2011-2012 chart.
