Another live Sade album? Wow I wonder if they'll get a consecutive top 10 with this one??

I don't know sara bareilles is having a new album coming out. It's a five-song ep produced by Ben Folds, with little promotion. Although there is a "single" with a music video.

They probably know how much first-day sales make up of debut week sales for anticipated albums.
For older albums they probably just multiply daily total by 7.
Then I'm sure they add a certain % anticipating the effect of live shows.
I mean... honestly, if we had access to the daily numbers they do we could all probably come up with projections just as easily.

Tenacious D, 'Glee' and Garbage Headed for High Debuts on Billboard 200 Chart
May 18, 2012 | By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles
While it seems that Adam Lambert is on the verge of his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Trespassing, a number of other acts are set to debut in the top 20 next week.
Industry sources suggest that Lambert's Trespassing could sell around 70,000 to 80,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 20. In a week without any other major new releases, and little competition, that may be enough to debut at No. 1 next week. Adele's 21 will likely be the runner-up, with between 60,000 to 70,000.
The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, May 23.
Comedy rock duo Tenacious D (comprised of actors Jack Black and Kyle Glass) could see its Rize of the Fenix album bow in the top 10. The effort -- its first since 2006's The Pick of Destiny soundtrack -- could shift 40,000 to 50,000.
Also on tap for a possible top 10 bow is the latest "Glee" TV soundtrack. The Fox show's Glee, the Music: Season Three - The Graduation Album could move around 40,000 to 50,000. That sort of sales figure will mark the lowest debut for a full-length "Glee" soundtrack album. Of the 10 earlier full-length albums (not counting its live movie soundtrack), the lowest start was earned by the last one: Glee, the Music: Season 3 - Volume 7. It began with 58,000 in December 2011 (according to Nielsen SoundScan).
Rock band Garbage has been absent from the Billboard 200 since 2007, but will finally make its return next week with the new studio set Not Your Kind of People. The album is its first studio offering since 2005's Bleed Like Me, and it is aiming for a launch of around 20,000.
On track to debut with perhaps a bit more than Garbage is Beach House's fourth studio album, Bloom. Both Garbage and Beach House could flirt with a top 10 debut, but a top 20 start is more likely.
On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart (below), Lambert is No. 1 while Adele's 21 is sitting pretty at No. 2. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants.
As for the rest of the Building Chart: Tenacious D is No. 3, Carrie Underwood's Blown Away is at No. 4 and the "Glee" set is No. 5. The Now 42 compilation is in sixth place, Lionel Richie's Tuskegee is No. 7 and Garbage is No. 8. The "Smash" TV soundtrack is at No. 9 while Beach House's Bloom rounds out the list at No. 10.
Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart
Rank LW BB 200 Artist Title
1 NEW Adam Lambert "Trespassing" 2 2 Adele "21" 3 NEW Tenacious D "Rize of the Fenix" 4 1 Carrie Underwood "Blown Away" 5 NEW Soundtrack "Glee, the Music: Season 3 - The Graduation Album" 6 4 Various Artists "Now 42" 7 3 Lionel Richie "Tuskegee" 8 NEW Garbage "Not Your Kind of People" 9 13 Soundtrack "Smash" 10 NEW Beach House "Bloom"
The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.

Oh s**t... Didn't see that coming. Carrie still has the Billboard awards which should help her remain top 3 and sell upwards of 70K.

Oh s**t... Didn't see that coming. Carrie still has the Billboard awards which should help her remain top 3 and sell upwards of 70K. They air Sunday night... I doubt people will quickly run out after the awards air to pick up her CD. Billboard Awards will affect next week's sales, not this week's.

^Award shows on Sunday nights do affect sales while the show is on the air, but you are right. Next week will have the gains from the show (IF anyone watches it).

Are pre -orders from the artist site included in those sales numbers? Do you think the label has sent those numbers in yet?

Of course Adam is front loaded with fan base sales (who isn't?), RCA messed up his lead single and his pop impact date for #2 is 5/29. He's got his fan base and word of mouth right now. Video looks to be pretty cool. His prediction is pretty good for May, no hit, no Black Friday sales, two and a half years post Idol. RCA should be pleased with that number all things considered. The reviews for Trespassing have been pretty great on the whole. Finding him a week he could possibly get a #1 is the least they could do for him ;) Better a #1 than a #10.
He hit #1 in iTunes in several countries, RCA will be counting on international sales for this project. The UK drop date is centered around the Queen concerts. Should be an interesting summer to watch for him.
I'm not too sure about Idol buyers on this one. Adam fans, yes, but I don't think this album is the typical Idol buyer album. He may have lost some Idol fans and gained others, which is just fine with me.

This is bad for Adam Lambert....I hope "Never Close Our Eyes" takes off so he won't get dropped.
Kris Allen next week......I will be surprised if he does over 20k.
