Interesting that an artist from Canadian Idol (Carly) and an artist from X Factor UK (Leona Lewis) have bigger hits than any US reality show contestant.
(Of course, career-wise overall, Kelly and Carrie blow them out of the water in the US.)

From Billboard article: "Ellie Goulding snares her own slice of Hot 100 history, as "Lights" lifts 6-5. In its 29th frame, the song completes the longest climb to the chart's top five not aided by country-to-pop crossover success or multiple releases."
Still lmao at this record.
Interesting feat for Nicki, but not because of 21 weeks in top ten but because of spending all those weeks between #5 and 10. The quartet of smash hits had been so strong this spring.

Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the third song from 21 to reach or exceed this level. "Rolling In The Deep" stands at 7,307,000. "Someone Like You" has sold 5,086,000. Not bad! So 17.393 million singles and 9.48 million albums? And that's not counting the surge in sales for "19" or other 15+ million records she's sold outside the States. Not bad at all! I wonder if LMFAO finally fell off?  And the answer is..... NO!  PRA has outlasted songs like WFL, SAIKI, GF and SFTTR which came much later and were HUGE hits. This is ridiculous! I bow down to its longevity! |

Is 45 weeks a record for "Cinema" on the Bubbling Under chart? No. There are five songs that have racked up at least 35 weeks on Bubbling Under without ever hitting the Hot 100: 1. Pearl Jam: "Alive" 2. Pearl Jam: "Even Flow" 3. Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go: "Cinema" 4. Luther Vandross: "Think About You" 5. Rise Against: "Savior" I'm sure of those rankings, but I can't remember exact number of weeks. I want to say it is 56, 51, 45, 43, 37, but I'm sure someone can correct me. Hmm... UKMix says the Pearl Jam numbers are 61 and 52, but that post completely omits Rise Against, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. |
