Germany: Domestic music dominated the official charts in the first 6 months of 2012
In the German Albums Top 100, 65.6% of all albums were German productions, compared to 54.7% in 2011 and 49% in 2010. German artists have 10 of the 15 biggest selling albums of the first six months of this year. The top 3 is entirely German (Unheilig, Die Toten Hosen and Xavier Naidoo), Adele is the first non German act at number 4.
In the German Singles Top 100, German productions accounted for 50.9% of all songs; last year it was just 32.67%. However, international acts occupy the top 3 with Michel Telo at number 1, Gotye at number 2 and Olly Murs at number 3.
