Just curious to hear from all you Hot AC listeners and what songs your station plays on medium or high rotation when they never even made the Top 20 on the chart.
I listen to KALC-FM Alice 106 in Denver, and these are a few songs which this station plays quite a lot that never touched the Top 20.
Stereofuse: "Everything": (It is STILL getting played in a fairly high rotation.)
Lucinda Williams: "Righteously"
Puddle Of Mudd: "She Hates Me"
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Up here in NH, WGXL used to play just about everything, but now the only time I hear a non Top 20 song (and I could probably even say a non Top 15 song) is during the overnight or on weekends, and it's even rare then.
On the flipside, you have stations like KSYZ/Grand Island, NE. They play just about every song that has hit any part of the Hot AC chart, and they keep on playing it too. When I was back there for a week last month, I specifically heard the following songs:
Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom Shania Twain - Forever and Always MercyMe - I Can Only Imagine Gavin DeGraw - Follow Through Sugarrhea - Is She Really Going Out With Him OAR - Hey Girl David Gray - Be Mine Telepopmusik - Breathe Tori Amos - Taxi Ride Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop Katy Rose - Overdrive Duncan Sheik - On a High Coldplay - The Scientist Pete Yorn - Crystal Village Simply Red - Sunrise Usher - U Got It Bad Christina Gaguilera - Fighter LeAnn Rimes - The Right Kind of Wrong Sense Field - Save Yourself Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan - Silence Macy Gray - When I See You Macy Gray - She Ain't Right For You Dana Glover - Rain Fleetwood Mac - Say You Will Feel - Got Your Name On It Robbie Williams - Feel Eddie Vedder - You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
and probably more that I forgot...

Wow there's no way i can think of every non T20 HAC song WPLJ played... I don't even know if I can think of all the current ones, lol, but here are some.
CURRENT/RECENT ONES: Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom Jason Mraz - You & I Both Sting - Send Your Love (this did miss the Top 20, right?) Seal - Waiting For You Meatloaf - forget the name Coldplay - The Scientist
FURTHER BACK ONES: Enrique Iglesias - Escape (they still play this a LOT and they usually stay away from Pop songs) Janet Jackson - "All For You" and "Someone To Call My Lover" both got played while they were out. Sarah McLachlan - Blackbird

Not to be nitpicky, but "Say You Will" and "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" both hit the top 20 on Hot AC.

Barenaked Ladies: "Testing 1,2,3" (probably an album track) Clay Aiken: "Invisible" The last two have only 1 spin.

On mix 100, which is a heavy AC leaning Hot AC station, I often hear: Phil Collins - Can't Stop Loving You Shania Twain - Forever & For Always Stacie Orrico - (There's Gotta Be) More To Life Simply Red - Sunrise MercyMe - I Can Only Imagine

At the same time, it is amusing to hear all that 80's music on that station. That is why because of all the classic 80's pop and rock played on the station, rarely does a #1 single on the station in a week get more than 30 spins. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
