I got an e-mail back from the AT20 folks saying that they'll start playing the Jennifer Nettles version on the March 18 countdown. One of the staff members said it was an oversight and will be corrected starting that weekend.

Every time I heard this on the radio the "Who says" part reminds me of the "Cupid, draw back your bow..." song from years ago. I mentioned it to a friend and she said that she had had the exact same thought.

On this weeks VH1 top 20 video countdown, they played the version Without Jennifer Nettles, even though the first 3 weeks the video made the show they've been playing the duet version.

Well, this is #10 on the published chart... so Bon Jovi has achieved the top 10 both here and at Country... nice accomplishment... now if we could only get CHR to pay some attention...

At #8 now. I don't know if it has enough to go Top 5, as there are some big hits pretty far above it. Plus its only a matter of time before "Savin' Me" rockets up the charts.

At #8 now. I don't know if it has enough to go Top 5, as there are some big hits pretty far above it. Plus its only a matter of time before "Savin' Me" rockets up the charts. James Blunt and Daniel Powter are a force to reckon with right now that will serve as a barrier from any other single to go Top 2 for a while. Also, Natasha Bedingfield is racing up there, and that too will keep Bon Jovi out of the Top Three. Top 3 is all but certainly unlikely. I do think the Top 5 is doable though, for the following reasons: * 1) With "Savin' Me" moving up, it'll affect the spins for "Photograph". The single currently has triple-digit losses on the chart. In addition, "Savin' Me" is still over 800 spins behind "WSYCGH" (which will require approximately six weeks, pretending the gains of these two singles remain the same, for "Savin' Me" to vault Bon Jovi.) 2) "Ever The Same" is aging as a single, and it'll begin to lose spins any time now. I also find it likely The Fray's single has reached its peak. 3) Staind's single is stale. Though increasing Pop airplay will help assure this single's longevity here, thus there will likely be no abrupt heavy drop in spins, it also isn't going to have a huge rise in spins. Bon Jovi's single is much newer and will out-pace this single. 4) Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" is the only single climbing the chart that's really intensely rivaling Bon Jovi at this moment. However, Kelly Clarkson also has to deal with the intense recurrent play of her past four singles going Top 3 here. This will affect this single's utmost potential. * Assuming this scenario is true, even if Nickelback's gains suddenly double and "Savin' Me" leapfrogs Bon Jovi three weeks from now, Staind and The Fray will assure Bon Jovi gets at least a #7 peak Next, you have the sliding of "Photograph", which will assure a #6 peak. Finally, the ultimate test is if Bon Jovi can have longevity at this format long enough to climb over Rob Thomas when he begins his descent down the chart, which will help them scrape the Top 5 (assuming no single suddenly rockets up the chart with +500 or more) Of course, if "Savin' Me" continues to have only a moderate rise up the chart, "Who Says You Can't Go Home" could reach #5 once "Photograph" slides beneath it. * Sincerely, Noah Eaton

We'll see on the Pop chart, the song offically goes for adds this upcoming week, hopefully it will be successful there as well.

We'll see on the Pop chart, the song offically goes for adds this upcoming week, hopefully it will be successful there as well. If any of their singles could crossover to pop and have success, it would be this one given that it's been their most successful single since "It's My Life" (this is even more successful than IML now) but I'm not counting on that happening, especially if it's the country version that they're sending to pop. Pop ignored "Have A Nice Day" which was a decent song IMO so it doesn't look like they have any interest in a veteran band like Bon Jovi anymore, which sucks. I doubt the urban leaning stations will add a song like this. I can see it making the top 50 and then falling, having a similar sort of run to "Better Days" and "We Are One Tonight."

I don't mind listening to it, but it's nothing spectacular.

I always thought of "It's My Life" as a big hit, but then I looked at the charts and realized it only made it to #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. "It's My Life" got a decent amount of pop airplay though.

I always thought of "It's My Life" as a big hit, but then I looked at the charts and realized it only made it to #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. "It's My Life" got a decent amount of pop airplay though. I think "It's My Life" at this point will still remain the bigger hit of the two all because it was really the single that lifted Bon Jovi into a new century of commerical success and also formally won over a new younger audience (I think "It's My Life" has become for Bon Jovi what "Beautiful Day" has for U2), but still by modern standards, "Who Says You Can't Go Home" has certainly become a damn strong single as well. Billboard-wise, "WSYCGH" has bested the peak of "It's My Life" and is now a Top 25 hit. However, you have to also remember that the Country format is one of the most popular formats with a total audience tripling that of both AC Hot AC, and even slightly larger than the Rhythmic format in size, and much of the single's success on the Hot 100 can be explained largely by its conquering of the Country format, where no Bon Jovi single ever previously staked its claim. If "Who Says You Can't Go Home" successfully crosses over into CHR/Pop the same way, then it's increasingly possible this single will be remembered as greatly as "It's My Life". But somehow I feel "It's My Life" will remain the far more popular single because it was a definitive hit that carried Bon Jovi back to multi-platinum sales and wide airplay after falling into the background to grunge and post-grunge in the 90's, whereas "Who Says You Can't Go Home", other than introducing them to a Country audience which they can very well continue to capitalize on should they choose on future releases, is essentially more just another hit from the band. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Does anybody here ever admit that they were wrong? Or is that not part of the program?
Strange strange board... and you know, every other time I go to log in here, it's says I've been banned. And I haven't even posted anything!
Anyway, I love this song.

The guitar intro was bugging me cuz it sounded so familiar. Then I heard "Follow You Down" by the Gin Blossoms and I think that's the song that it reminds me of. Anyone else hear the similarity?
Not a fan of the song. I think I just don't like Jon's vocals and the cliche/macho lyrics that are so indicative of Bon Jovi.

I can kind of hear the Gin Blossoms.
I am getting really used to the version without Jennifer Nettles because that is the only one I hear anymore on the radio and on Vh1, but I still love the Jennifer Nettles version.

All three CHR stations that I can tune into are playing this. WHOT in Youngstown even has this in their top 10. I love it.
