Goes for adds on January 30 on HAC.
I like it but there's better tracks on the album they could've gone with. Nonetheless, its release isn't so much a surprise with what it's been doing on Country.

I like it, but then again since I've listened to more Country the past 3 months than I have probably at any point ever, I might be a little biased...
I assume they are releasing the normal (not Country version)...

WTIC in Hartford is already playing the country version, so you never know. Then again, Bon Jovi is still very popular in the northeast and that station will play anything they put out.

I've only heard the Country version so far, so I'll ask: does the normal version feature Jennifer? I wouldn't expect so, but I don't know for sure.

No, the non-country version does not include Jennifer, not even on harmony. I think she adds a lot to the song and makes an otherwise uneventful track more enjoyable.

Doesn't surprise me... the TIC has always been a good station IMHO... I would bet some $$$ that WPLJ isn't going to be far behind (since we all know Bon Jovi is Scott Shannon's fav) if they aren't already on it...

mms://66.186.0.101/allaccess/bonjwhos.wmaSo I guess this means HAC is playing the country version since this version was posted in the HAC page at All Access? I haven't heard it on the radio yet so I'm not sure.

Well, I was right about PLJ... now leading the way with 31 spins... doing very well at this format... too bad CHR is gonna more than likely ignore this one too...

As does WINC Wichester, VA (not monitored, but a good Hot AC station nonetheless).

Nice debut! Although it's kind of a bummer to see nothing else picking it up, it's also nice seeing this song becoming a hit exclusively on my 2 favorite formats: Country and Hot AC.

^^ An odd combo... Hot AC and Country... how often has that occured without AC getting in the mix??? Enquiring minds want to know!!!
"Picture" by Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow comes to mind immediately, but not much else...

The version without Jennifer Nettles is NOWHERE as good as the version with her... She just makes the song, if you ask me.

heehee. I made my station add the country version. *does a happy dance* lol. This will soon be on week end top 20 charts at both Country and Hot AC... maybe it will go top 10 on both formats... that'd be something!

"Have A Nice Day" is selling pretty healthy considering it hasn't landed a track on CHR/Pop radio yet, which virtually all of Bon Jovi's previous albums had something able to make the Pop chart. "Bounce" only went gold, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but "Have A Nice Day" is certified platinum. That shows sales for this album are edging out its predecessor already. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

*le sigh*
They found out that I added the country version. They made me change it.
Damn.

Wow, I've never seen anyone mug around for a camera worse than Jennifer Nettles is in the video. It's worse than that girl in Weezer's "Perfect Situation" video and at least that wasn't supposed to be serious. I mean, if Bon Jovi wants to appeal to country fans, that's fine I suppose, but that doesn't mean they have to make a tacky video to go with it.
That being said, I prefer the original version, and that seems to be the one I've heard on KPLZ. It does feel a bit middle-of-the-road by their standards, though, but it's still OK.

I really don't see why they have chosen not to play the Jennifer Nettles version, I think this would do a lot better if it did, not like it is doing terrible or anything. I think everyone can agree that Jennifer Nettles makes this song a lot better.

I agree, especially since Jennifer's listed on the R&R chart (Casey's the only show that uses the official R&R Hot AC chart, might as well play the songs as listed on the chart).

Jennifer does make the song better but it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other which version I hear on the radio. I was listening to my Hot AC station last week and they played the version without Jennifer Nettles on their top 7 at 7.

This single has really lifted the album back up the Billboard 200. (70-36 rise on last update)
I think this album will enjoy some chart longevity because of their singles' popularity on the Country format, and frankly, I think this will sell close to the sales of "Crash", which any way you look at it, it's a HUGE success story considering "It's My Life" and "Thank You For Loving Me" both received a whole lot more mainstream airplay, unlike this album, which so far Pop radio has given the cold shoulder despite the title track being one of their most immediate singles.
When you look at the "Bounce" era too, this album's sales in contrast is also amazing, considering both "Everyday" and "Misunderstood" went Top 30 (despite neither single likely to be remembered) though that album only went gold.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
