Cool, can't wait to hear this! I just hope it isn't generic... something's telling me it will be.

Can't wait, very excited about this. Gutterflower was good, but I do hope they have a more Dizzy Up The Girl sound, I would love for them to come back big again like Mariah Carey has. Any clips?

They've been generic ever since they scored big with "Name". I did like "Here Is Gone," but I'd like them to get back to the Dizzy Up The Girl sound. Another "Give A Little Bit," and I'll vomit.

"Iris," "Slide," and "Black Balloon" are definitely not generic. Some songs on the last album, mainly "What A Scene" were not generic either... but they went with the most generic lead single ever last time, "Here Is Gone." I love that song and it was a #1 on my chart, but it was very subpar for them. Then there was the boring as hell remake late last year, which is basically the reason I'm not anticipating this as much as I normally would a new GGD single.

"Iris" and "Black Balloon" are pretty damn generic to me. Typical 90's pop-rock ballads. As for "Slide," it's like the upbeat alternative to that style.

I'd actually prefer to see them return to the "A Boy Named Goo" sound, where they had much more meat to their guitars, had plenty of small solos and were more adventurous with their lyrics like they were on "Flat Top". I don't expect them to make a comeback to Alternative should they decide to lean that direction, but they'll have more lasting appeal as a rock band more than a Top 40 band. It seems Switchfoot is soaking up their appeal right now, and the Rzeznik approach is really obvious in new songs of theirs like "Lonely Nation", "The Shadow Proves The Sunshine" and "Politicians". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I'd most prefer for them to go back to the A Boy Named Goo sound, but I absolutely don't see it happening.

I don't think Iris and Black Ballon are generic either.

It did say something, though, when a boring, live cover scored a #1 on HAC, and set a record for lowest pop peaking HAC #1. GGD have huge HAC appeal.

The success of "Give a Little Bit" sorta baffles me. All 3 of their singles from their last album were better (but not on par with their best stuff) than GaLB, but none of them were as successful. What gives?

I have never dislike anything that the Goo Goo Dolls have done, it seems almost impossible to me, but by far "GALB" was their worst, but I still had to like it. If this is anything as bland as "GALB" I will be pretty upset about it, but even if "Better Days" is the worst song I have ever heard in my life (which is about the chance of a giant asteroid hitting Earth tomorrow) I would still buy the album.

Agreed with someone sayin they are on par with Matchbox20. I believe they are one of those hit bands.. where while they dont do anything exciting and original.. they can put out moderately good qaulity songs, perfect for radio that appeal to their market audience.

Honestly, though they are unoriginal musicly, I think most of their songs stand out lyricly.

Awesome, thanks so much! I like the clip, but the Goo Goo Dolls don't even sound like themselves. It sounds more like Lifehouse or something.

I agree, it is definetly a more mellow sound, but I still like it, I'm sure I'll grow to love it and judging from the vocals I think this will be a really good album, can't wait! Does anyone know when the album will be released?

Yeah, it doesn't even sound like the Goo Goo Dolls to me. I like it though. It's better than "Give A Little Bit" to say the least!

The 30-second sample sounds great. Goo Goo Dolls are one of my favorite bands of all time, I can't wait for the full song to get leaked.

It's already #24 on iTunes in it's first day out. They should get this on some teen drama this fall. It'll be their biggest hit in years.
None of the clips do this song justice. It's very epic balladry.. kind of like "Iris". It's my favorite by them in a long time.

This is so much better than expected. It reminds me of "Black Balloon" but softer. This DEFINITELY has hit potential. This is as strong as their 90's material.

This reminds me more of The Calling than Lifehouse.

There is a longer clip now up at the website, that's the only leak I have until the all access clip (hopefully they'll have one or else I won't be hearing this for months knowing my stations) I think this will be huge! Not bigger than "Iris" of course, I don't think anything can ever beat that song, but bigger than anything off of their last album. Anyone know when the album will be released, I can't find it anywhere.

yeah this song is great. Defintely top 3 on Hot AC, likely Top 15 at POP. Should be a small return for the Goos, lets hope so.

Currently this song is slated to be on the Target Xmas CD and may or may not be on the studio album. The new Goo album is due in early 2006.
