This song is #2 on AAA New And Active this week, and I'm glad they finally released it. I was hearing it in so many places (WXPN, WRNR, XM U-Pop) without it being released that it was starting to remind me of "My Humps". ;)
Anyway, this song is already my favorite David Gray song. Love the intro, and the overall instrumentation. It's just very well done. Had I been the record company, this would have been the first single.

I think it's kind of amusing that this is listed on promotion sites as "Tell Me Something" or "Tell Me Something (Hospital Food)."
I like the song, as well. It's not my favorite song on the album (I just adore "Lately") but I think it makes a good single. I'm a little bit surprised that they didn't consider releasing "Nos Da Cariad." The 4 songs they considered were "Alibi," "Lately," "Hospital Food" and...ack, I don't remember what the 4th song on the Rate the Music survey was...I think "Ain't No Love"? All great songs. I love this album.

Good choice. David Gray has a lot of stuff, especially on this album, that feels very slow. Probably why there are glaciers on the album cover. This really ramps up and by the end, it's hard not to be bopping along to it. That kind of infectious quality usually does very well on radio.

This is radio-friendly, but not nearly as radio-friendly as "The One I Love".
"The One I Love" was a much more accessible song that connects to the dearest of lovers, while "Hospital Food" is not as immediate.
If "The One I Love" couldn't make an impact beyond Triple A (it definitely had what it took to go Top 10 at Hot AC), this will certainly do worse.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Good song. Really love his voice. I was just watching the DVD side of his dualdisc. He is such a likeable guy. I'm seeing him in concert next month. Can't wait. I think we have really good seats.
