for the 12/2/05 chart:
#1: "Photograph" by Nickelback holds at #1 for a fourth week
Biggest Mover: "Cab" by Train climbs 5 notches to #34
Oldest Song: "You and Me" is in its 43rd week Oldest Song below #20: "Follow Through" is in its 31st week
Going to Recurrent next week: "Scars" by Papa Roach is in its 20th week this week. "Behind These Hazel Eyes" might go recurrent if it falls below #15.
Debuts: None
Other notes:
The chart doesn't see much action this week, and it probably won't see a lot for a while with the holidays coming up. The top 8 songs stay the same this week, and a total of 12 songs in the top 20 stay in the same positions as last week.
Howie Day gets his second top 10 hit as "She Says" moves 14-10.
"This Is How a Heart Breaks" falls out of the top 10 after spending 17 weeks there.
Gorillaz love the #19 spot as "Feel Good Inc" spends a 5th week at that position.
After debuting at #38 last week, "Don't Lie" by Black Eyed Peas falls to #40.

for the 12/9/05 chart:
#1: "Photograph" holds at #1 for a fifth week
Biggest Mover: "Cab" by Train climbs 5 notches to #29. This is the biggest mover for the second week in a row.
Oldest Song: "You and Me" is in its 44th week. Oldest Song below #20: "Listen to Your Heart" is in its 20th week.
Going to Recurrent next week: the aforementioned "Listen to Your Heart". Ironically, the original was spending its last week on AT40 with the airdate of 12/9/89. "Behind These Hazel Eyes" might go recurrent if it can't hold at #15 again.
Falling Off: "Follow Through" to recurrent after 31 total weeks. Thus the song spent 11 weeks on in its current run. "Scars" also goes to recurrent, after 20 weeks on
Debuts: "Landing in London" gives 3 Doors Down their 8th Hot AC hit and Bob Seger his first Hot AC hit. Re-Entry: "Switch" by Will Smith re-enters the chart after a four month absence. The song was last on the chart on 8/5/05.
Other Notes:
"Feel Good Inc" spends a 6th week at #19. The record for most weeks at any peak position outside the top 5 is 8 weeks ("Breathe" by Anna Nalick).
"Have a Nice Day" has been at the #12 or #13 position for the past 7 weeks.
Weezer get their 1st top 10 as "Beverly Hills" moves 11-9.

Since it's that time of year again, I think we should do some facts on year-end charts. I'll go first:
"Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me)" by Train is the only song to make two appearances in the year-end top 10. It was #4 for 2001 and #8 for 2002.
"Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling was ranked at #49 for 2001, #1 for 2002, and #19 for 2003.
The #1 songs of 2001 and 2003 belong to matchbox twenty ("If You're Gone" and "Unwell").
I'll try to think of some more facts. Could somebody else give it a shot in the meantime?

I think Nickelback is the first foreign act this year to hit #1 on the Hot AC chart. I can't even remember the last one. Avril perhaps?

Since it's that time of year again, I think we should do some facts on year-end charts. I'll go first: "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling was ranked at #49 for 2001, #1 for 2002, and #19 for 2003. Wow, the song was on three different year-end charts. The only other song I can remember that managed that was "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins, on the mainstream AC chart. For some odd reason, it was the top song of 1999 (yes, I know that it spent nineteen weeks at number one, but it didn't come out until April of that year and, nowadays, a song coming out that late would have virtually no hope whatsoever of being the top song of the year), number ten on the 2000 chart and somewhere in the 20s on the 2001 year-end chart, due to the fact that it spent two weeks on the chart in the 2001 chart year.

Here are the facts for the 12/16 and 12/23 charts:
#1: "Photograph" holds at #1 for a total of 7 weeks
Biggest Mover(s): "You're Beautiful", 16-7 (12/16) "Just Feel Better", 37-29 (12/23)
Oldest Song: "You and Me" is in its 46th week Oldest Song Below #20: "Home" is in its 20th week
Debuts: 12/16: "Some Hearts" gives another Idol alumni a hit on Hot AC, "Just Feel Better" gives Santana his 6th hit and Steven Tyler his 3rd, "Luxurious" is Gwen's 5th solo hit
Debuts 12/23: "Unwritten" is Natasha's 2nd hit, "Dirty Little Secret" and "Stickwitu" are All American Rejects' and the Pussycat dolls first hits respectively, and "Original of the Species" is U2's 9th Hot AC hit.
Other Notes:
"Feel Good Inc" now ties "Breathe (2am)" for most weeks at a peak position below the top 5. Gorillaz have been at #19 for 8 weeks now.
Lifehouse may tie the record for most weeks in the top 5. For the 12/23 chart, "You and Me" has been in the top 5 for 34 weeks. The record is 35 weeks, held by "Unwell". Of course the 2 week holiday break may stop Lifehouse from achieving the record as they could very well be below #5 for the first chart of 2006.
Staind is earning bonus weeks as "Right Here" moves to a new peak of #16 in its 21st week on.
Alanis earns her 8th top 10 as "Crazy" moves 12-9.
Counting his work with MB20, Rob Thomas now holds the title for most top 20 hits with 14. Sheryl Crow is in second place with 13, while Madonna is in third with 12.
Big droppers out of the top 10: "I'm Feeling You" falls 8-15, while "Beverly Hills" falls 9-14.
That's it for 2005.

It's amazing that "Feel Good Inc." has spent such a long time at #19.
How many weeks did Fastball's "Out Of My Head" spend at #8? I remember it was quite a few. In fact, I remember "Out Of My Head" and "There She Goes" (by Sixpence None The Richer) spending a long time back-to-back.

"Out of My Head" spent 4 consecutive weeks at #8 on its way down, plus another non-consecutive week.
"There She Goes" spent 3 consecutive weeks at #9...it's longest stay at any one position. (Peak of #6).

Thanks, at20fantoo. I must have exaggerated a little bit when I said "long time." I thought it was longer than that.
Anyway, I think I remember Casey Kasem making some kind of comparison between the two songs. One week he mentioned something about "There She Goes" being at #16 (or some other number) before playing Fastball. I assumed he was referring to the fact that Fastball was doing much better than TSG. Of course, I wasn't really paying much attention. I wish I would've, though!
