I'm not quite sure what song #15 was. Church lasted a tad past 9:00 this morning and the show apparently had started slightly before the top of the hour, since they were already introing the number 14 song. "Stars" was merely a guesstimation, since "Feel Good Inc" has been bouncing in and out of the countdown over the past month. If I somehow find out what song had come in at number 15, I'll amend this post.

Wow, at this point, lookng at the "weeks charted" column, that Lifehouse song looks sort of out of place, having been on the chart for 40 weeks while the other songs have been on for no longer than 14 weeks. But, that's the way it should be, seeing that "You And Me" is still riding high on the R&R Hot AC chart. They must have had someone else compiling the chart this past summer (someone who didn't know what he or she was doing) when songs like "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" and "Let Me Go" dropped out of the chart from high chart positions while they clearly still had a lot of life left in them, because the chart is looking a lot more consistant nowadays. Most of the songs on this chart are either in or very close to the Top 20 of the corresponding R&R chart.

Like there were absolutely no radio-friendly songs popular during any December during the past decade ) On The Verge: The Great Divide/Scott Stapp Landing In London/3 Doors Down f/Bob SegerWell, Green Day made a valiant effort to recapture the top spot, but it looks like they'll have to settle for two weeks at the top, which isn't bad (in fact it's fine - LOL!) However, as they slide back a spot, Kelly Clarkson grabs the runner-up spot and looks like she could be the next number one. But she may have to wait awhile. From what I hear, next week's show is going to feature Christmas music. But that could mean that they are going to play holiday tunes in place of the Flashback Tracks and On The Verge songs. I'm going to try to e-mail the staff at VH-1, since I have two other shows to listen to (Rick Dees and AT40's Top 100 of 2005). With all I have to do Christmas morning, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to juggle three shows. I'll definitely be making use of my tape recorders that day! Hopefully, WKSC will do a AT40 marathon on Christmas Eve like they did with Rick Dees' last year. That would be a big help.

Well, the show didn't air this weekend. Instead, 94.9 ran a show called "Christmas At Home".

Well, I tuned into 94.9 The Coast this morning hoping to hear possibly a year-end edition of the VH-1 Weekly Rewind but instead, they ran 90s Backtrax USA in the two-hour timeslot. I e-mailed the station to ask what was up, but I have a feeling that the show has been dropped, since I tuned into The Coast several times yesterday and it was regular programming. So it's entirely possible that this is my last VH-1 Weekly Rewind topic. :(

Well, Michael1973 e-mailed me the list of songs that his station played during the VH-1 Weekly Rewind time slot on WTIC (that site doesn't work on my computer >:() So here is the list:
1) Boulevard Of Broken Dreams/Green Day 2) You And Me/Lifehouse 3) Lonely No More/Rob Thomas 4) Photograph/Nickelback 5) Since U Been Gone/Kelly Clarkson 6) Wake Me Up When September Ends/Green Day 7) This Is How A Heart Breaks/Rob Thomas 8) Behind These Hazel Eyes/Kelly Clarkson 9) Breathe (2am)/Anna Nalick 10) Give A Little Bit/The Goo Goo Dolls 11) Speed Of Sound/Coldplay 12) Breakaway/Kelly Clarkson 13) Good Is Good/Sheryl Crow 14) Cool/Gwen Stefani 15) American Baby/Dave Matthews Band 16) You'll Think Of Me/Keith Urban 17) Holiday/Green Day 18) Because Of You/Kelly Clarkson 19) Better Days/The Goo Goo Dolls 20) A Lifetime/Better Than Ezra
Well, the list looks to be listed more or less in the order of peak positions, with a few of the weaker number one songs listed lower. And, except for "Breakaway", it seems to favor songs that were on the chart from the late spring on, since many of the songs that were riding high on the charts back when I first started listening to the show are nowhere to be found. "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" comes out on top despite being garroted from the chart several months early. That's probably because the song spent more weeks at the top than any other song this year. "Let Me Go" by 3 Doors Down, on the other hand, is nowhere to be found. That may be because it peaked at number four and the songs on the chart look to be songs that peaked at number three or higher. The year's longest running song, "You And Me" by Lifehouse, is at in the runner-up position. On the last chart of the year, the song had been on the chart for 41 weeks and was in and out of the top spot many times during the summer. Not sure how many weeks total it was at #1 right off the top of my head, though. Notice how all four of Kelly Clarkson's songs are on the chart. I believe three of the four (with the exception of "Because Of You") hit number one. And "Because Of You" could very well be her fourth consecutive number one song. However, if my station has indeed dropped the show (I haven't heard back from them yet), we might never really know.

Good news. I just heard back from the program director at 94.9 The Coast and he said that it was "simply a holiday oops". It should be back this weekend.
I'm assuming that he meant that because of the high volume of mail and packages sent during the holidays, the show didn't get to the station on time.
Hopefully, there will be a "January" edition of my VH-1 posts starting this weekend.
