What's going on here?
Not one, but THREE stations have picked up "Forever", a track from Vertical Horizon's defunct latest release "Go".
This thread may not mean a thing ultimately, but I find it quite a coinsidence this suddenly picks up multiple adds.
First we saw the huge disappointment of "I'm Still Here" unfold, which performed worse than all three singles from "Everything You Want", then they never released a follow-up to that, and now are they actually trying this late in the game to push this?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

They were wrong on the single choices. This song as the first single would have been top 3 easily, and "Goodbye Again" as the second single would have hit the top 10. I don't know what's happening, but I'd like to see this song charting, I really love it

I don't know what's happening, but I'd like to see this song charting, I really love it I agree. "Go" wasn't quite as good as "Everything You Want" (and their albums before that are actually even better and more raw) but Vertical Horizon are a decent band especially in popular music. "I'm Still Here" had a catchy hook, but I didn't think it's really a track anyone can really connect to, so I don't think it was a good lead single strategy. "Forever" connects better in comparison, and I think "When You Cry" also is superior to "I'm Still Here" on that level. All I can say to VH is good luck if they're really suddenly trying to give the record a second push. They're REALLY, REALLY going to need it, and at this time I doubt this massive flop can be redefined. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This is really surprising! I like this song but I thought When You Cry would have been an excellent single choice. Well if anything this will make me pull out the cd and give it another listen.

"GO" REDUX April 2005
Look for Vertical Horizon on the road this spring in support of summer's re-release of "Go" on Hybrid Recordings. The re-release will include the previously unreleased track, "Better When You're Not There" as well as the new single "Forever" which hits radio May 9th, request it today.
Got it from their website, I hope they finally get 3 hits off this they deserve at HOT AC. "I'm Still Here" is already 1. "Forever" 2. and "When You Cry" 3.

This is good news! Or it could be bad news. I hope Forever strikes a chord with radio. Anyone have any numbers for this song yet?

I've never owned one of their CDs, but love "Everything You Want" and "You're a God". I hope they are successful!

"Forever" is most added at Hot AC with 14 adds. This could possibly end up being a stronger showing on Hot AC than "I'm Still Here" was. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I heard this on my Hot AC station yesterday. I like this better than "I'm Still Here." I'm glad they are getting a second chance.

It was just announced today that Toto has dropped out of my hometown's Summer concert Riverfest and has been replaced by the Gin Blossoms and none other than Vertical Horizon . How freakin' awesome is that? I can't wait. The only weired thing about this is that they will be opening for Air Supply (yes they are still alive!). This should be interesting to say the least.

Toto is one of my favorite bands. It's pretty rare to see Toto in the US these days. The guys are getting pretty old, but they are still good. They aren't always great vocally, but they are very tight musically.
Gin Blossoms and Vertical Horizon sound like good replacements though.

Yeah it sounds like it could get ugly with the Riverfest people already giving a deposit. Looks like lawyers could get involved. Toto says they got some recording time in a really popular place overseas and have cancelled all June concert dates. Do these guys really need to record anymore? No offense but there is nothing worse than going to see an "older band"(Kansas, Styx, Toto, etc) and having them sing 10 new songs out of the 20 that they do. It seems like every artist Riverfest gets does that every year. Sorry about the rant....I can't wait for VH!!!!!

I've had this album for a long time but just now am I getting into this song. that's the problem of this album. The needed this song to be the first single just because it is an outstanding song, and then the album would have done something

Great show, terrible audience. The crowd never moved. The guys seemed into the show anyway. Here's a set list:
1. Inside- Not a good opener 2. You're A God 3. Forever 4. Shackles 5. Best I Ever Had 6. Sunshine 7. Wash Away 8. Send It Up (Crowd Participation, best song IMO) 9. I'm Still Here 10. Everything You Want
No Encore because of threat of rain which never came. Gin Blossoms followed and did great as well. Didn't know half the songs (on new album) but they did all the good ones together at the end. Air Supply opened for both and did really well.

I keep hoping this will "make the show" (AT20), but they just keep getting passed up! They were +35 this week and #24, but Keith passed them up. BSB have their last week on the chart this week, and Gwen's got two weeks left. Maybe "Collide" and Kelly will fall off in the next two weeks so even if Def Leppard passes them up, they can get top 20. By the way, this is a beautiful song!

HBG is on its 10th week now, not 19th. And BSB are on their 15th, not 20th. I accidently looked at the peaks, not the weeks. But this is BTE's last week on the chart, and Howie and Kelly are bound to fall off soon.

They're up two to #22 this week with 851 spins! Not sure about a trend but they still have a bullet. I think there's still some hope considering there are four songs that will be going recurrent in the next few weeks. I guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed.
