Not a bad cover. It will probably be a Top 20 at AC but i noticed it's getting release to Hot?Modern AC. I'd love to see Rick pull a Richard Marx and land a couple Adult top 40 hits. How do you think this will do?

Should do ok I think. Maybe better on AC then HotAC.
What ever happened to this guys Australian carreer. Seems to be huge in the US during the late 80s/90s.. but he is one of those 'what ever happened too?" in his country of Australia.

Heh, this probably won't touch the top 20 on either chart.

That's true but Rick Springfield is every bit as big as Richard Marx,Tears for Fears, and in his hey day Duran Duran weren't much bigger.... I'm just saying it wouldn't suprise me if it got no adds nor would it if it went to #28 on Hot AC!!!

He nails this one. He's an indie act vs. Urban's Capitol records. Big difference. However, in the July 23rd Billboard magazine it mentioned that Rick's Gomer label teamed up with Red Ink for promotion on the AC side for first single Broken Wings. Red Ink was rated #18 as the power players in the AC format, Simply Red also used the Red Ink for promotion to AC radio.
The question is can Red Ink work Hot AC/Modern AC markets or is this just gonna be a Gomer label project.
His version of "I'm Not In Love" was featured on the Regis daytime show. There is at least one Hot AC station in Buffalo that will add this song as they were first to respond to him in the past with the Will I single.

All true but indie has helped Hootie & Collective Soul. They concentrate on breaking the single and not giving up on promo once it hits Top 40. But that's not every indie. I say if it's got decent promotion, it'll do something. It's very familiar and Rick is core with Hot AC in the gold 80's department .....

No Red Ink help with this single. Gomer, Rick's label, is teaming up with DKE for radio promotion. Who is DKE? Also, it's going for AC adds this week not Hot AC/Modern adds. This makes me wonder....

This song is getting legitimate adds... it's true to the original right down to the whispers and doesn't sound dated.
I hope it goes somewhere... it blows away "Broken Wings"..
