Here's a little song I heard yesterday on MTV's indie tab for the videos. At first lsiten, I didn't like it (but then again, I was chatting and eating at the same time), but after a while, it grew on me. Check it out. www.mtv.com/bands/az/spektor_regina/artist.jhtml

Reviews taken from www.metacritic.com/music/artists/spektorregina/sovietkitsch80 Blender Traces of Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey, Björk and Cat Power are all proudly on display in the unpredictable arrangements and off-kilter emotions. 80 The Onion (AV Club) Spektor's songs tend to take strange turns halfway through, jutting off for a chorus or bridge that barely seems connected to what's come before, then circling back to make the connection clear. 75 Entertainment Weekly While her art folk has its considerable charms, it's also erratic and, at times, exhausting. [11 Feb 2005, p.63] 70 PopMatters The first few plays require a bit of patience, but this is a unique new talent. Like listening to PJ Harvey or Shannon Wright, having patience pays off. 70 All Music Guide Spektor is an engaging performer throughout the album, and despite her arty quirks, she's never pretentious. 68 Pitchfork There's a wealth of great material here... all diminished, to various degrees, by genre affectations. 60 Rolling Stone Spektor's cabaret shtick occasionally wears thin, but Kitsch's highlights... have an appealing honesty that can't be faked. 30 Junkmedia While Spektor possesses an intriguing voice, she uses it in such a cloying, affected manner as to be almost entirely off-putting.

I'm not certain, but this might have been the person who played on Conan and play the piano along with some gross noises with her mouth. It was horrible.
