This instant classic goes for adds on May 3. Her biggest HAC hit since the Daydream era for sure!

On its impact week, "We Belong Together" is second most added at HAC with 11 adds. It already had 3 stations, bringing its total at HAC to 14 stations.

This will get a decent deal of exposure on this format.
I think this will have a run similar to Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come", where it cracked the Top 20 and lingered there for a few weeks.
I don't think it'll go Top 15 though.
My Prediction: #18
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

The Hot AC station here added "We Belong Together" this week. They never play R&B and I've never heard them play any of Mariah's old songs. I was shocked.

It's going to be her first Hot AC charter since "When You Believe"'s #29 R&R peak. :o

Both of my Hot AC stations (WINC Winchester, VA and WBQB Fredericksburg, VA) carry this one and play it in fairly high rotation.

The first three Daydream singles went Top 10. "One Sweet Day" went to #1. The Hot AC chart didn't exist prior to that though or else she'd probably have quite a few more Top 10's. Hot AC has changed drastically in the past 10 years though. "We Belong Together" would probably be a shoe-in for Top 5 if it was 1995.

Adult contemporary is known for playing artists like Celine Dion and Josh Groban. Hot AC is known for playing artists like Matchbox Twenty and Sheryl Crow.

Okay i can see the difference if i use those four artists as a example, thanx makes more sense now...even though the charts itself is very interchangable

Adult contemporary is known for playing artists like Celine Dion and Josh Groban. Hot AC is known for playing artists like Matchbox Twenty and Sheryl Crow. They should rename the AC chart to "Soft AC" and the Hot AC chart to "Rock AC" since 90% of it is some form of rock based contemporary. I would like to see a new format develop between CHR and Hot AC. Stuff on the Hot AC chart, plus CHR stuff like Natalie and Natasha Bedingfield, just no rap. THAT should be the 'Hot AC' chart.

Not a bad idea, but I would shoot my issue of Billboard if I ever saw songs like "This Love" or "Lonely No More" in the Top 5 of a chart called "Soft AC".

WPLJ (NYC's HAC station) has included this song on their new call-out survey. That means they are considering adding this song. The only other R&B songs they've ever added this decade were "Fallin," "All For You," and "Someone to Call My Lover." Just when you thought Mariah couldn't get any more airplay in NYC...
