How many songs by British acts went Top 10 at HAC this decade? Just wondering because it seems like British Lite-Alt and Pop-Rock songs are constantly going for adds, yet so few actually make a solid impact... which is sad. I just wanted to put into perspective exactly how many British hits we've had here so far? Here's what I can come up with, please help me fill it in! 2001: Coldplay, "Yellow" 2001: Dido, "Thank You" 2003: Coldplay, "Clocks" 2003: Dido, "White Flag" 2004: Keane, "Somewhere Only We Know" 2005: Coldplay, "Speed Of Sound" Did David Gray's "Babylon" go Top 10? This list is sad. I hope I'm forgetting quite a bit. Coldplay and Dido are the only ones who've become HAC staples. Even here, songs like "The Scientist" and "Don't Leave Home" flopped unexplicably. Keane is radio friendly as hell and can't get a second hit. Then there's so many other acts that would mesh perfectly with the format but don't. Oh well.

"Babylon" did indeed hit the Top 10.
I don't think Keane made the Top 10. I think it peaked at # 11. Coldplay's "Yellow" also only made it to # 11. "If You're Not The One" only reached # 16.
Does Sting count? If so, both "Brand New Day" and "Desert Rose" made the Top 10.

"Babylon" did indeed hit the Top 10. Nice! That's shitty then. It seemed completely overplayed here, and my area isn't exactly known for overplaying HAC songs either. Oh, I guess I was thinking of Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart for "Yellow." I think it went to #9 there. Awesome, forgot about Sting!

Try Australian acts now..
Easy.. Savage Garden. LOL!
Im sure a lot of British Acts went top 40 on HotAC.. just not top 10, which I guess it a lot harder and for the more token HotAC acts. Which,I guess are 80% US.

Ah huh! There we are.. sorry, forgot about Jet :( :(.
In all honestly, I think Australia has kinda, created its own token sound in the last 4/5 years. And it seems that that sound is hard to market to over seas countries and the only ones that make it are the ones that sound the same as other countries music.
That how I see it anyway :) JB

Cool, who are some Australian bands/artists you'd recommend? You should post about them in the Global Music section.... I know I'd be interested. ________ And (I think) I just thought of another UK act to go Top 10 this decade at the format.... BBMak with "Back Here" in 2000... or did they also fall right below the cutoff?

Cool Captain :) I shall post some recommendations in the Global Music section.
I do an internet radio show, when I get the time, on a station in Canada, playing all Australian Music. Sparks quite a bit of interest. However, due to my hectic scheldule, I can't keep up doing it every week which is a shame :(
Cheers JB
