Can somebody provide their singles that hit Hot AC and their peak positions? I heard recently that they had 11 number one HAC songs and find that hard to believe.

Whoever told you they had 11 HAC #1s is very unreliable. They haven't had any #1s.
As for peaks, I'm afraid I can't help you there. Try asking our resident chart experts (DuckHead, Cerebro, mst3k, GordonUM, Jimmy Finlayson [previously known as ulij20]).[/font]

"The World I Know" and "December" never hit Top 10? Whoa. That's shocking.
And I still think "Run" should have been one of the biggest hits of 1999. Still angry over that one.
So "Better Now" will be their biggest HAC hit. Something seems off on that, lol.

"The World I Know" is the only song I ever hear from them regularly as a recurrent on the radio, and they play it all the time.

"The World I Know" and "December" never hit Top 10? Whoa. That's shocking. "The World I Know" sounds to me like Top 5 material at Hot AC... I can't believe it only made it to #18. It did well at Pop, so I can't complain too much... "Run" is one of my favorites from Collective Soul. Why that song didn't do better is a mystery to me... I happen to like "Better Now" a lot, but I find it hard to believe it's their biggest hit at Hot AC, especially now that they are on their own label.

If the chart and format was like it is now. The World i know & Run would have been top 10's for sure. Top 40 was better then, now Adult Top 40 is awesome. However if you look at the apount of weeks they stayed on charts, they both had staying power.
I look for "How Do You Love" to be a Top 10 smash at Hot Ac and be theyre biggest hit yet!!
Then "There's A Way" to be Top 20 too!!
Hopefully "Better Now" can get Top 10 for a week or 2 but regardless it's been a HIT!!

"The World I Know" is the only song I ever hear from them regularly as a recurrent on the radio, and they play it all the time. "December", "The World I Know", and "Shine" still get a decent amount of airplay. Sometimes I hear "Shine" on my Triple A station, but both my Portland station and my old Triple A station in Boulder play "The World I Know" over that by a 3 to 1 to 4 to 1 margin, and I never hear "Shine" on Hot AC radio here. Anyway, I'm so happy Collective Soul are soaring into the airwave stratosphere again, and "Better Now" has been getting a great reception at both my Triple A and Hot AC station. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think it's interesting to note that "The World I Know" (which peaked at #18) is still getting around 175 spins per week at Hot AC. On the other hand, "Run" (which peaked at #12) is only getting around 10 spins per week at Hot AC.
"The World I Know" is getting a lot of Hot AC airplay today even though it barely made the top 20 originally. I'm sure a lot of people have pointed this out, but Hot AC seems to be pretty receptive to 90s pop music, which as a whole was more rock oriented.
The new songs that Hot AC is playing today would probably have been pop hits around 7-10 years ago or so... Hot AC is a great format for me right now since I like a lot of the pop music from yesterday, but I don't like as much of today's "pop" music.

Collective Soul has a great sound - they are unique in that they always find a way to sound fresh. "Run" is a classic - I can understand that it was hard to categorize which is why it may have been simply caught as too lite for rock stations and to rock for lite stations.
They have had so many great songs though - I don't know if "Energy" was ever released as a single, but that may have caught fire.
Lastly, if "How Do You Love" does not become a hit with songs like "You And Me" zipping up the charts, then something is wrong.
Wonder if Collective Soul releases their next album independently? They seem to be doing a better job getting their songs up the charts than their label did!

People have to remember that when the HAC format started, it was VERY AC leaning (compared to today's format) because basically the AC panel was just split into two formats. So, for the first couple of years of the format's existence (which is when some of Collective Soul's big hits happened), HAC stations would not have put this into their power rotation.
So, I guess I am not shocked like others in this thread.

I'll bet what I must have heard was that Collective Soul had those #1 hits at the Modern Rock format.

Dosage is one of my all time favorite albums. I think towards the end , they released the wrong singles. Blender was a decent album that I thought should have performed a little better, and the new one is pretty good too.
