Time to start the topic for the edgiest, most contraversial song to hit HAC in a long time (maybe forever.)
Where do you think this will go?

Dramatic much?
I don't think this is one of the most controversial song to hit HAC radio. Why would think that? I could see this hitting the chart but be nowhere near as successful as BOBD.

Yeah, I took the drama pills. But this is controversial. The lyrics are really easy to figure out if one took the time. That, plus how hard it is, makes me think it won't even go top 20.

I don't doubt that it won't, but it seems highly unlikely with its alternative flavor. Maybe, maybe not, either way, indifferent, ha!

Time to start the topic for the edgiest, most contraversial song to hit HAC in a long time (maybe forever.) Where do you think this will go? Even more controversial than Jesse McCartney's "Beautiful Soul" or Nelly and Tim McGraw's "Over and Over"? Yes, this is a very controversial track, and that's what made me doubt going far at CHR/Pop to begin with; simply because it is a political song. I'm actually pleasantly surprised its already set to go Top 30 there. And if it can go Top 30 there, there's no reason it can't do something here as well, even when Hot AC stations are usually tamer in their selections. My Prediction: #8Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I like this better than Boulevard. My Hot AC station picked this one up about a week ago.

I like this better than Boulevard. My Hot AC station picked this one up about a week ago. So did mine... without the spoken word bridge, of course. I had a feeling they'd leave it out since they did the same thing to Audioslave's "Like A Stone" when they briefly played that. The hell with it, as far as I'm concerned. If it does well, great, but it's not like they need this format's approval anyway.

I was again shocked to hear this on Hot AC with the bridge left in, this time on Harrisburg's WRVV. WRVV is not what anyone would call an aggressive Hot AC either. They mostly lean on Classic Rock and I don't even think they're a reporter. They segued right from this into Billy Joel's "Piano Man". I'm starting to think that Ragin's comment about this song appealing to older people is correct.

Slinky, you heard it on the River?? That's cool...I'm from Harrisburg and listened to the River all the time. I got fed up with their limited music library (even though they boast that they have a large one). WRVV hardly EVER cuts songs down for any reason. They play the full album version of The Counting Crows' "Mrs. Potter's Lullaby," for example.

Yup, I was driving from DC to Lancaster Friday night and heard it a little after 7PM. I was shocked to hear the song at all, then really shocked, but happy, when I realized it was the full version.
The station's slogan is "Rock Without The Hard Edge". To me, "Holiday" is a song that DEFINITELY has a hard edge, but I'm not complaining.

Yeah, thanks to the Listener Advisory Board, the River has expanded its parameters as far as current music. They play current Green Day tracks as well as "Time of Your Life" and "When I Come Around." You'll also hear bands like Fuel and Nickelback, I believe. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they play Sugar Ray. They're more of a pop band, IMO. By the way, they have a Greatest Hits coming out...oh boy.

I heard "Wake Me Up When September Ends" on a Hot AC DMX station three times this weekend! Aren't they pushing that as well or...
