This is the lead single from Aimee Mann's forthcoming fifth studio release, "The Forgotten Arm"
"Going Through The Motions" was previewed on Mann's recent live release, "Live at the Warehouse"
With the way radio has, for an umpteen number of times, completely ignored her previous single releases, many of which were incredibly radio-friendly ("Could've Been Anyone", "That's Just What You Are", "Humpty-Dumpty", "Pavlov's Bell") don't expect this to be a smash either.
However, Aimee Mann's fanbase has consistently grown through all of her releases, with the soundtrack for "Magnolia" fueling a whole new cult audience.
Though a majority of formats will likely shut her out yet again, can Mann continue her slow, strategic conquering of Triple A radio here?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I can't WAIT to hear this! The live version on her new DVD is great, and I love the studio work she does to her songs. I think this has a shot of being a hit, so we'll see.

You can hear the new single now on her official web-site, as well as two other tracks from "The Forgotten Arm", titled "I Can't Get my Head Around It" and "She Really Wants You". www.aimeemann.com/theforgottenarm.htmlI'm not holding my breath since she really hasn't had a single big hit in her solo career, but her fan-base has steadily grown and this is indeed a catchy lead single. "She Really Wants You" is really catchy too. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

At least the stations are picking up this track.
12 stations now have this track, even while it's really not getting rotated like Aimee Mann singles typically have been treated.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
