I don't like it. Do something original 2 years after your last song charts please! I haven't really liked a lot from them tho since slide and iris however.

This really isn't that bad, it just pisses people off to hear a cover from a staple Hot AC band when you're expecting something new. I don't see this song losing any steam until after the holiday season. So from now, here's my predicted chart run:
19-14-12-9-8-7-6-6-5-6 (xmas break)-7-9-12-13-17-20-REC

This is definitely a grower. I'm really feeling it now, and the bullet is still one of the largest I've ever seen at HAC.
rkwo, you bring up a good point about the "Give a little bit of your love" line being a prefectly themetic lyric for airplay during the holiday season. That can only help. I don't hold this up to par with the Goo's classics, but I am liking this as just a fun song, and hopefully it's catchy enough to put the Goo's back on the map for when their next studio album comes around.

Hot Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes & Friends/Geri Halliwell f/ Edf85 & N.I.N.A. remake! I love it. It reminds me of Christmas @ GAP!

I think fans that don't like this are crazy. I'm a fan of Supertramp, I'm a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls, and I REALLY like this. It's a great song. I don't know what the complaints are about, it is MADE for HOTAC radio, and clearly the PDs agree with me on this one.

This week it's at #5 on Billboard...this is the highest charting song on this format that has not made it on the hot 100 yet that I've seen. It is for the most part only receiving airplay at hot ac format however. Previously, I think the highest a song made it without getting on the hot 100 was #8, but was also charting on the AC chart at the same time too. GILB is currently #3 on the bubbling under 100 chart.

This song is only about 8 million behind "Daughters" in audience, looking at all formats. While 8 mil is a significant margin, it doesn't seem like enough to make the difference of #45 for John Mayer and not even in the Top 100 for the GGD.

Also, any word on a video?
Eh, I bet it'd just be a boring live one anyway though...

But in terms of audience assuming this song doesn't have a single it not being on the Hot 100 just means it isn't in the Top 75 in audience, it probably is in the Top 100 in audience if it is Number 3 Bubling Under.

Actually, I think it is quite possible that the difference between #45 and #80 is about 8 million. We're talking about the lower region of a Top 100 here, plus there's always the BDS-Mediabase differences.

106 spins from 3 stations is a lot of spins per station for Triple A.

On the current mediabase update, this is #1. Perhaps the Goo Goo Dolls will have an unofficial #1 peaker (not sure if it can hold onto the top spot until January...)
Speaking of which, IF it were to hit #1 on Hot AC, I think it would be the first song to do so and not hit the top 40 on the pop chart! Right now, the song is really hurting on pop...

Looks like this may also make waves on AC radio.
While Goo Goo Dolls earn another week at #1 at Hot AC, "Give A Little Bit" is steadily rising up the Top 20 at AC radio.
My predictions were certainly bested big time. It may be safe to say this single has outperformed all three of the "Gutterflower" singles, even if "Here Is Gone" and "Big Machine" got more CHR/Pop airplay.
It's definitely a success story to score a #1 off a non-studio release.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
