This looks like it's going to become a pretty big Hot AC hit. It's scoring excellent call out with the 20-something females and it's on Jump! and Taking Off.

At least the label waited till it finished at country before going to all of these other formats. I still wish it wouldn't crossover, I don't want that stigma attached to him at country radio.

We probably should've seen this coming in lieu of the Nelly collaboration. Where else is this being released to?

It's already been released to Country obviously. It was released to Adult Contemporary not too long ago and from listener response, looks like it may be hitting #1 in a few months.

I think this song is actually pretty boring. Definitely not one of his best When this song was out at country radio earlier this year, I thought it was painfully boring but something hit me lately. Maybe it was paying attention to the lyrics, but I love it now.

I don't think this will ever really pick up.
"When The Sun Goes Down" had a similar appeal happening outside of Country, and thanks to Uncle Kracker it got some additional spins elsewhere, but it never exploded.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This song is his second best ever for me, right behind "Please Remember Me".

"When The Sun Goes Down" had a similar appeal happening outside of Country, Yes, but LLYWD is a far superior song to "When The Sun Geos Down". Kenny/Kracker's song is a bit gimmicky, which I thought would get them airplay, while Tim's song lyrically is one of the strongest to come out in years. I don't see this hitting #1 on Hot AC, but it could very well go Top 20, espcially if it gets big Grammy noms.

It's up from No. 83 to 60 on Billboard's building Adult Top 40 chart and sitting at No. 16 on the building AC chart.

The adult llisteners who are AC's primary target (25-54) women) will undoubtedly eat this song up the same way they adored 'I Hope You Dance', a similarly powerful song with a MESSAGE.
It has the potential to do very well at AC and possibly Hot AC, since both of those formats have replaced CHR/Pop as being mass-appeal formats more and more over the past several years.

From Billboard Hit Predictor: It is rare enough for a Country artist to make it on to the Top 40 chart, but Tim McGraw is set to do it twice. He is enjoying huge success with his Nelly collaboration “Over and Over”. That song is conquering another format this week as an addition to the Adult Top 40 HitPredictor ranks. Now Tim’s Country hit “Live Like You Were Dying” is a debut HitPredictor at both Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40.
CHR score for new music ranked # 3 scored 76.0 HOT score for new music ranked #1 scored 88.9 (over and over ranked #2 with a 83)

LLYWD is doing exaclty wat I hope you dance did..... Lee Ann Womack never had another Hot AC or AC hit after that, or he could become like Shania, and have more futur AC and HOT AC hits then actual COUNTRY ... :S.. but unlike shania, country music seems to be embrasing this song, even tho its going to POP statsions (inlcuding CHR!!!)..

It was THE #1 country single of 2004, according to Billboard, and #7 at R&R.
It also spent TEN weeks at #1 in R&R an all-time record at R&R, and set weekly airplay records in the first week of August that were unprecedented.

I don't see Tim McGraw having continued success at Hot AC or even AC beyond the "Over & Over" effect, which "Live Like You Were Dying" is benefiting from. His voice sounds too twangy. He doesn't have the cross-over appeal and the pop sensibilities of Shania Twain, Faith Hill or Lonestar. Maybe a few adds here and then, or minor hits, but not multiple #1 smashes. There are always surprises, though, like Keith Urban's "You'll Think of Me" on AC, which mixes it up a bit.

Tim was having success at AC before the "Over And Over" effect -- his cover of "Tiny Dancer" was a Top 15 hit last year at AC while "Live Like You Were Dying" charted at AC before "Over And Over" hit radio airwaves. He also made it to No. 6 at AC singing w/ Jo Dee Messina on "Bring On The Rain". Wouldn't be surprised to see "Live..." take a nice jump up the AC chart first of the year after the Christmas titles are removed.

That is undisputed. However, his impact on Hot AC with "Live Like You Were Dying" is fueled by his collaboration with Nelly. I thought "Tiny Dancer" peaked at #16 on the R&R AC chart? "Live Like You Were Dying" is his first solo top 10 AC hit.

Jumped from No. 23 to No. 8 on Billboard's AC Chart...and looks like it will debut at Hot AC possibly as early as this coming week.

I wonder if it will gain enough steam to re-enter the hot 100? I think it was up to about #10 on the recurrent for that chart. Or maybe they will release a single for it (or BB will add digital sales as they indicated they are soon)
