As of today, Gavin Degraw would be back up to #10 if he was still on the chart and he's only a few spins away from #9. If this continues, I wonder if they'll move him back to 'current' status. Hopefully not.

IMHO they should move "I Don't Want to Be" back to current, as it has been slowly climbing back up for a while now. I feel that any recurrent song that has enough power to return to the top 10 (a rare event) should be allowed to re-enter the chart.

I feel that any recurrent song that has enough power to return to the top 10 (a rare event) should be allowed to re-enter the chart. Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" never made it back onto the chart despite achieving its finest moments on the chart as a recurrent. Also, Los Lonely Boys' "Heaven" peaked as a recurrent on Triple A after achieving its second wind. So I think this single should also remain a recurrent. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Also, Los Lonely Boys' "Heaven" peaked as a recurrent on Triple A after achieving its second wind. So I think this single should also remain a recurrent. I don't understand how these examples lead to the conclusion that it should stay a recurrent. The thing to consider is that IF Gavin is not moved back to current, he will then be ineligible to be on the top 100 for 2005. If this song continues to ride somewhat high on the Hot AC chart, then the top 100 for the year would not reflect this song and the airplay it will receive. From a historical point of view, I Don't Want To Be will be lost in the shuffle of "minor" Hot AC hits... But to provide a counterexample, Norah Jones' Don't Know Why went recurrent on AC radio but returned to current after the Grammys and ended up peaking at #4, despite its first peak at #18.

Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" never made it back onto the chart despite achieving its finest moments on the chart as a recurrent. Well technically, it couldn't have recieved its finest moments on the chart as a recurrent.

You didn't happen to construct Sans Recurrent Rules charts for the two holiday weekends, did you?
Actually, what I'm looking for is how the AC chart would have looked had it been printed in R&R.

For Hot AC, no because Mediabase only posts the top 20 songs and for Hot AC I usually need at least up to #23 or #24. For AC, I did put do one, but it has the Christmas songs on it.
