This song for some reason is just exploding on Hot AC! I never thought I'd see this song skyrocket so fast! It's gains are over 600 right now!

I understand why it would do well on Hot AC. In fact, I think it's more fit for Hot AC than pop.

I can understand why it's on the Hot AC chart, but 600+ gains are ridiculous. I don't think even "This Love" saw gains this big. There's nothing special about the song at all. Right now it looks sure to go top 5, but hopefully it'll slow down soon.

This song should be blowing up. It's a John Shanks masterpiece.

As I said in the other thread, I can see why HAC stations would add this to their playlists but there's nothing about this song that should give it the biggest bullet I've ever seen at the format. It's all hype.

It's all hype. Why shouldn't hype help it out? First of all, like I said, it's John Shanks and he's certainly no stranger to the format. This song would be a hit no matter who sang it. On top of that, it's about to hit the top of the pop charts. This is the first truly Hot AC aimed single by a female that has topped the pop charts in awhile.

It's all hype. agreed I hate when a truly mediocre song becomes huge. Its like...huh? Every year I think the music industry cant get any worse and I think it proves me wrong...every year lol.

I'm with Josh. It's perfectly produced and fits Hot AC radio perfectly. I can understand why some people find it mediocre, but I think it's the perfect pop-rock song. Her vocals may not be astounding but they fit the track, and that is why it works so well. If someone like Celine Dion sang it, it wouldn't work. She would oversing it, and it's not that type of song.

Its not even her vocals that bother me (they took enough studio time to fix it because she cant sing live to save her life) Its just the fact that it is for all counts completely generic and mediocre. Yet this becomes massive.... It seems like artists should STRIVE for releasing boring, bland, mediocre and unoriginal tracks. Thats all that becomes popular nowadays. Sorry I have a ongoing beef with the music industry and its crappiness Im assuming at some point I will just give up and stop following it because it will drop below a level of tolerable crap...but for now there are still slight glimmers of hope within music and I am optimistic that someday maybe those glimmers will be realized

I can't believe the success of Pieces of Me. If you would have told me two months ago this song was going to be a top 10 on the Hot 100, I would have laughed in your face. But to have the song do so well on Hot Ac is amazing me. I say a top 10 on this format. I think it'll have a quick rise, quick fall run.

Much as I don't like the song, it's perfect for this format. It very well could hit #1.

Been hearing it on my Hot AC station. Not a big fan of it. Maybe I'm just sick of these cookie cutter, interchangeable pop stars. Want some substance, you know?

Ashlee continues to plow up the Hot AC chart and might make top 10 in just her 4th week on! :o
