I have calculated the top 100 songs from 1994 to 2003 on the Hot AC chart using a simple inverse point system. I will be posting the entire chart on my website later this week, but I thought I would share some highlights: Lowest regular weekly peak position to chart: "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones. The song peaked at #8 on the weekly chart and ends up at #68. Lowest ranked #1 song: "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" by Celine Dion at #100. Matchbox Twenty have 5 songs in the top 40. #50 is "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker, #40 is "Calling All Angels" by Train, #17 is "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls (that is #1 on my calculation of the pop chart top 100 calbean.users3.50megs.com/at40/top100.html) Here is the top 10: 1. Drops of Jupiter - Train 2. Smooth - Santana f/ Rob Thomas 3. Wherever You Will Go - The Calling 4. Hanging by a Moment - Lifehouse 5. Slide - Goo Goo Dolls 6. Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon 7. If You're Gone - Matchbox 20 8. Unwell - Matchbox Twenty (*) still on chart at end of 2003 9. How You Remind Me - Nickelback 10. Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer

Whoa! No "Iris" in the Top 10 I'm a bit suprised by that too. I haven't heard a single Vertical Horizon track forever on my station, nor "Kiss Me". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I don't get it...why is the chart on this forum completely different than the chart on the link you made?

I don't get it...why is the chart on this forum completely different than the chart on the link you made? The link is for the Pop chart, the ones listed above are from the Hot AC chart.

The chart has finally been posted. :) You can find it at: calbean.users3.50megs.com/at20/top100hac.html<Oops! I just noticed that some of the position numbers don't show up. I'll have to fix it later... > Regarding "Iris", the difference between it and #10 is only about 100 points, not very much for songs that spend a while on the chart. "Iris" only spent 43 weeks on the chart, while "Kiss Me" (#10) spent 53 weeks and was able to earn more points.

Do you have any idea how many points matchbox twenty's "Unwell" ended up with since it's the highest song on the list that was still current at the end of 03?

I made a *few* mistakes, including "Bent". Thank you very much for catching that error!! After going through my list again, I found that I accidentally left off 4 songs. (That's what I get for making the page at 3 in the morning). Anyway, the list has been corrected and posted on the web site. "Bent" came in at #11. Other songs that were added in the correction: "Again" by Lenny Kravitz - #27 "Wonder" by Natalie Merchant - #55 "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind, #78 My original post above was corrected as well. MB20 now have 5 songs in the top 40 of all time.

Now Real World by MB20 is on the chart twice. Maybe one of them is suppose to be "Mad Season" ?

Now Real World by MB20 is on the chart twice. Maybe one of them is suppose to be "Mad Season" ? Fixed (it was just a duplicate - no other MB20 song was added). Unwell only earned 240 more points in 2004, which would only allow the song to move up one to number 7 on the chart.
