On the Triple A chart that is. They are currently #2 something like 90 spins away from the top. If they did it, that would have to be the biggest jump on this chart considering it is only a 30 position chart to begin with.
I'm thinking someone like U2 has made a huge jump like this or even more likely debuted in the top 5 at one time.

They'll come close, but I think they'll settle with a 26-2 climb this week.
They'll fall behind Bruce then likely make it to #1 a week from Sunday.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

R.E.M. is #4 on this morning's AAA update. No they aren't. They're firmly at #2 with 419 spins since last week, only short of Bruce Hornsby's 501. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

And I'm happy that they're getting that high, because that means that they'll be a better contender for #1 than Finger Eleven. I like "One Thing" but no band that not too long ago called themselves the Rainbow Buttmonkeys should be that high on the Triple A chart, ever.

BTW, what is the difference between the R1R and R1M charts? The R1M chart has the stations the R1R has plus WRNR/Baltimore, KABQ/Albuquerque, and S018 the Sirius Station. These are listed on R&R but I'm not sure whether or not these stations are considered monitored or indicator, can someone with the magazine inform us?

Our Lady Peace were originally going to call themselves the Bellyflop Communists before they decided to go with Our Lady Peace. They're #4 on the R1R chart and #2 on the R1M chart. I'm shocked that Finger Eleven was even a contender for #1 a few days ago (and still is, sort of). When it first burst into the AAA Top 20, it seemed that its momentum was largely carried by one station that suddenly played it over 50 times, accounting for most of its gain and 25% of its total AAA airplay back then. I expected it to stall at 230 spins or so but it went on to reach 380. I don't remember what station that was but looking at the leaders it must have been WGVX.
And at least they and OLP changed their names eventually. Hootie and the Blowfish didn't.

Once R.E.M lets go, U2 will inevitably have a humongous debut onto the chart with "Vertigo" and reach the top most likely before "One Thing" even noticed the single coming. As for Hootie & The Blowfish, well, they still have far more hits than both bands. Their name must have done something right. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
