I'm not sure where this should go, so I'm guessing it's this format. She's a new Australian, singer/songwriter on Interscope. Her video went to MTV today and this song is awesome. We promoted an earlier song called "I Can't Make Me" that was okay, but this one is miles better. I think that one was only a pre-release buzz track since the album just came out on February 24th. She's opening tour dates for Sarah McLachlan and Barenaked Ladies. Anyway see the video for "Another White Dash" here: www.bandbuilder.com/butterflyboucher/index.php?ref_code=E45429

OK, I could have sworn I replied to this thread yesterday....
I saw her album at Best Buy yesterday. I'd never heard or seen her, ever. But the cover interested me to I told myself to check her out when I got home.
Well I got online, went to amazon.com, and listened to clips. I fell in love instantly! I downloaded 3 songs and loved each of them. Another White Dash was my favorite.
Last night, I downloaded her album....it is stellar. This girl has real, genuine talent. I'm surprised that this song isn't blowing up. It's catchiness is off the scale.
Here's hoping that this song explodes on all formats and Butterfly gets the recognition she deserves!

She also plays all the instruments on her album. I have a copy of it and it's very solid. I think Interscope is just now starting to push her. This song hasn't even gone for adds yet I don't think, but hopefully it'll get some action in the coming weeks.

I like this a lot now. It's been hanging around the bottom of the Hot AC chart for awhile.

I like this a lot now. It's been hanging around the bottom of the Hot AC chart for awhile. Touring with Sarah McLachlan appears to be serving her well. Just as Maroon 5 increased in popularity before exploding, touring with matchbox twenty, John Mayer and Counting Crows, Boucher may be experiencing a similar ascending. However, I don't see this particular single going much further. It just stands out half-way. The sound is arranged pretty cool, but I really don't see everyone humming this lyrically. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I STILL love this song and I think that Butterfly has immense talent. This is a great driving song and I'm glad that it's at least made a tiny dent. My local station plays it all the time.
She needs a good follow-up...but I'm not sure what song. Maybe I Can't Make Me, even though she tried that out first...there are great, catchy songs on the album. Never Leave Your Heart Alone is a really good one, but not really that radio friendly.
Have any of you heard her duet with David Bowie called Changes?? It's on the Shrek 2 soundtrack. It is GREAT. She has real, genuine talent. Her accent makes her voice sound really smokey and sexy.

Strange that this topic was bumped yesterday and she happened to be at the Interscope office today. She was really nice. Pretty soft spoken and laid back. LOL, she was really into picking up some free CDs.

Radio is all messed up when a great song like this can't even crack the Top 20. :'(
Got to see Butterfly a few days ago with Sarah and even got her to sign a copy of her CD for me after her opening set.
I think she has a thing for the color green. I've seen her in bright green pants and bright green shoes in a radio station photo gallery. :)

Touring with Sarah McLachlan appears to be serving her well. I love Sarah McLachlan, so when I recently found out that this girl Butterfly Boucher was opening for her...of course I had to see what kind of talent she had to open for S.M. I like the look/style and her song "Another White Dash" is catchy. Reminded me a bit about Avril Lavigne...still deciding if that's good or bad. Anyways for anyone in Atlanta I heard Butterfly will be performing at Hard Rock this Tues. 7/27.

If anyone has an mp3 of the radio mix of this song, please let me know (I only have the album version, and I like the newer version better).

I saw Butterfly on Monday night. She's definitely a little quirky but she was really good. I was going to get her CD signed but the line was so long. I didn't want to miss Sarah's opening.

I prefer the remix too. I actually hadn't heard the album version until I bought the album on Monday night.

Having never heard the song on the radio, I'd never heard the remix. I prefer the album version. I guess it's a matter of which one you heard first.

Yeah, that's the version I wanted... thanks! (So this is the version that's on the album? I thought it was the other one... oh well. I'm confused. )

Well, when I first heard the album, it was the Austrailian version that was released before the US one, the version of AWD was more "rock." The intro seemed to be faster than the one found on the US version. There are also strings in the US version that aren't in the Aussie version.
So yeah:
Aussie Version=Faster, No Strings US/Radio Mix=Slower, Strings, More backing vocals.

Ah... got it now. :)
Also, the US version has that neat modulation on the final chorus.
Are there any other noticeable differences between the two albums (on other songs, I mean)?
