The Eagles are back with a highly anticipated follow-up studio record to 1979's "The Long Run" and a return to their early Jackson-Browne-country-twang-drenched sound. This J.D. Souther-penned tune (originally recorded and released by Souther in the early 70s) features a rare vocal ping pong match between Glenn Frey & Don Henley and surpasses the droning headache that was 2003's "Hole In The World."
Already at #12 on Triple A. I dig.

So, this is the band's first album of all-new material since '79.

Weird to think that The Eagles hit the CHR charts 12 years ago. How the format has changed...

Yeah in '95 CHR was still playin hits by Elton John, Annie Lennox, John Melloncamp, etc. - the big change IMO came at the very end of '95 with Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls "Name", and Joan Osborne "One Of Us" (I remember they all came out around the same time) - 1996 was the year that CHR really evolved into pop/alternative and R&B, rather than Baby Boom pop/rock stars and R&B

Weird to think that The Eagles hit the CHR charts 12 years ago. How the format has changed... It was more like 13 years ago when they charted with "Get Over it"; and the reason it did fairly well at CHR was due to its heavier sound. It was a slightly bigger hit on Billboard's AC chart, which back then, combined regular AC with Adult Top 40. Then again, their ballad "Love Will Keep Us Alive" did pretty well at CHR too. I think the only reason for that was it was such a huge AC hit, so CHR felt obligated to spin it. In other words, it was an AC-crossover to pop.
