Ok why in the heck is Kelly down a notch to #5 this week? She just climed two notches to #4 last week and now Pink is back up a spot or two? The Top 5 should look like this: #5 David Cook, #4 Kelly, #3 Nickelback, #2 Taylor, #1 The Fray. I don't get why Pink is goin back up And yes it looks like no more 80's extras :( There are a few 90's extras but this week mainly erly 2000's.

While many of us (myself included) miss the 80s extras that made AT20 stand out, they are really just trying to keep up with the majority of Hot AC stations. The show has lost enough affiliates as is and continues to do so, so whatever they can do to keep the remaining stations on board is a plus for me.

Why does Casey play songs that bubbled under the top 20? (Thriving Ivory's "Angels On The Moon" is one example.) He's been doing this a lot for the last year and a half. That sucks.

Casey also played "Hot N Cold" (as an optional extra) on AT10 as a song bubbling under the Top 10.

Also, the song that debuts at #20 this week (Eric Hutchinson's "Rock & Roll") was played 3 weeks ago as a bubbling under hit! Same goes for the Plain White T's with 1,2,3,4, a song that debuted two weeks ago at #16 was played 2 weeks prior to debuting!!

I think it's interesting that the extras are becoming gradually more modern, with more frequent occurrences of songs bubbling under the Top 20. I wonder if a Top 25 could be in order? There'd still be plenty of extras, but not so many to where a third of the AT20 countdown is not the countdown.
AT10's another story, but hey, it works over there in AC-Land!

Does anyone think that AT20 is going to become just like the HAC version of AT40? Only play extra's that are not more than 5 or 6 years old. It does seem like AT20 is becoming more modern. It seems like that the only way to hear a 80's song on AT20 is that someone has to request it as a LDD lol.
Mike Kasem has been the only guest host for well over a year now. I'm not complaining Mike is doing a great job. It does seem to me that the 80's extras etc was Casey's thing, perhaps they are getting rid of the 80's exrtras because they are making it more modern or getting us ready for a more modern host? The more it seems it is possible that this is Casey's last year, and Mike Kasem is taking over in Jan. I personnaly like AT20 the way it was with the 80's extras and the LDD. As for a top 25 chart, they should do that for AT10 go back to the way it was on"Casey's Countdown." The show was better then and you still had extra's without the spotlight. Just my opinion.

While I hate to think of losing AT20 with Casey as host, there has been speculation on one of the Casey fansites that he will hang up the headphones in July of 2010 which would be his 40th anniversary of counting down the hits. While there is absolutely no actual proof of this, and while I would love for the show to continue forever, it would be quite fitting with at the 40 year mark. Plus, as much as we all love Casey, there is no denying that lately he just sounds tired and some weeks seems to really be struggling to do the show. Some weeks he still sounds great, like his old self, and other weeks he just seems to be really slowing down.
I will listen to the show until the final week, no matter how it changes, and I hope that Casey and AT20/AT10 go on for years to come. Casey has always been my radio idol and AT20 is a weekly tradition that has stayed no matter how busy things get. I do believe though, that when Casey retires, be it in one year, five years, or ten years, AT20 and AT10 will not continue.

That's all interviews with the music as filler. AT20 has a lot more substance.
