Received three Hot AC adds this week, and it was just added on AllAccess. Good choice for a third single.

This is going to be a huge smash. It's just too hard to lose with Mayer and T-Swift.

Easily his best bet at another hit from "Battle Studies".
It can be argued Taylor Swift is already experiencing the beginning of her commercial decline with "Fearless" stalling on the Country chart and "Today Was A Fairytale" failing to mimic her previous single successes on Mainstream radio, but there's simply no way to confirm that until we see how her first two singles from her third studio album fare. I do believe she is still the kind of artist other artists would kill to have featured on their tracks presently.
Not that John Mayer needs that, of course, even with the recent Playboy interview controversy, as he remains as commercially viable as ever and has single-handedly pushed all his other hits up the charts through four album eras to date.

This may be true Noah (you know the saying there's no bad PR) but my respect for this guy really took a hit with the crap he said. Some people don't care what kind of person they are listening to. It's all just about the music to them. That's great for them but I generally do care especially if I'm going to spend some money on them. Even before all that I wondered why in the world he asked her to sing on one of his tracks. Gotta keep appealing to that younger crowd I guess.

Where's gravity? HERE. Mothertrucking smash. This should be John's second number one here. This song is amazing, and should do well on Top 40 as well. Hell, even throw it out to Country. This will be HUGE.

Yeah! Good to know this will be the third single! Hope it does well, at least top 10 on Hot AC.

This will be HUGE. LOL! Yeah, it should be a hit. Country? We'll see. It would probably go top 20 because of the Taylor attachment but no farther. This is pretty much hand-crafted for this format though. It should do well on AC as well. Top 40? We'll see if the stations can fit this in between Eenie Meenie and TiK ToK.

It could do well on country if you add just a steel guitar riff or two. It could do well on Top 40 since Heartbreak Warfare has done as well as it did. Half of My Heart is more radio friendly, I think. I'm sure that this will be another smash. If not, there's something wrong with people. This song has some great lyrics too. "Half of my heart is the part of a man who's never truly loved anything."

Even before all that I wondered why in the world he asked her to sing on one of his tracks. Gotta keep appealing to that younger crowd I guess. To be fair, though, Mayer has always had a bit of a big mouth in interviews. That's no secret. "My Stupid Mouth", if anything, has proven to be a prophetic song that speaks to his new-found struggle to juxtapose his music career from his presence in the tabloids. Thus, I can't be surprised he said what he said, as thoughtless and immature as it was. All I know is, if Mayer can't understand how even beginning to think of comparing some part of him to a white supremacist won't rile up many listeners, then this is only the beginning of his PR turmoils. The Taylor Swift feature is such a joke. She's hardly on it. But if it gets him another hit, fine with me.

Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus good, thats how fast charts should move, like in the 80s i seen some of Genesis classics not stay but a few months in top 40 not the whole freakin year! That way the next single doesn't lose steam,it was a top 10 hit surved it's purpose on to 3rd single!

My station's been playing "Perfectly Lonely." Maybe they were smart and shipping that to AAA and left this one for HAC/CHR? I much prefer "Perfectly Lonely," so I hope that's the case.

29 22 JOHN MAYER Half Of My Heart 912 543 369 4.449 This is still smashing, of course. It'll probably get to 21 by Thursday or Friday. It'll be stuck there for a while though, there's a 200 spin gap between 20 and 21.

22 20 JOHN MAYER Half Of My Heart 1178 912 266 5.756 Top 20. As Heartbreak Warfare went recurrent, this swept in and took its spot.

My radio station played new music from Rob Thomas, Train, and John yesterday. It was my first time to hear this song. Taylor sings so little in it why even give her credit in the song. Oh yeah, to get her fans to download the song. Smart move by John. Anyway, I think this is probably John's weakest single in awhile. While I might not care much for John the person I generally do like his songs. This one didn't do much for me and he repeats the chorus way too many times. It gets a little old and I generally don't like a lot of repetitive lyrics. I think its a little lazy songwriting. If I have anything negative to say about Rob Thomas lately it's that I think he has to watch the repetitive lyrics, too. While I love Mockingbird he could have made the song even stronger with an added verus and less repeating at the end of the song. Where did Heartbreak Warfare peak on HotAC? I think it was a much stronger song so I wouldn't expect this song to peak higher unless the Taylor factor does help him get considerably more spins.
