Rick Dees WT40 Special: Biggest #1's/Past 4 years.

Time for another meaningless Rick Dees #1 hits special, for what it's worth. These are the "biggest" #1 hits of the last four years. Obviously these are in no particular order, and as usual consists of songs that either never made it close to #1 on the Hot AC chart, or songs that are still climbing both the Hot AC and Pop charts!

Interestingly, the "number one" song on this list is the current number one song "Already Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. In addition to a couple of extras by Kelly as well, at least this chart does consist of a couple of Lady Gaga songs, an artist who was mysteriously missing from the Rick's 2009 year-end chart!

Thanks - when I checked his website earlier, he had that godawful Jason Derulo song as #1 for this... you'd think the webmasters would at least pretend to give a s*it.

While I understand the need for a 'filler' chart, there are about 300 better ideas - the best soundtrack hits of the decade, one hit wonders, #2 hits, etc. etc. Of course they're too chicken to play different songs, as they think it'd alienate listeners. Whatever.

It wouldnt matter really what idea they came up with. It would still consist of pulling songs out of a hat and giving it a number.

True that. Still, it would be nice to have a best-of chart that didn't play "Big Girls Don't Cry", "How To Save A Life" and "I'm Yours" in heavy rotation.

Seems like a pretty meaningless list, and mostly compiled of songs from the past year/year and a half. It's missing a ton of chart-worthy songs from 2006-early 2008.

Oh he'll like that question! But that's exactly what this chart feels like, something he did on the cheap in about ten minutes.

Yeah, and I noticed that Jason Derulo song too. Glad it was a typo because I was not sure how I would be able to explain that song as his "number 1" song of the year! Although Jason Derulo actually did get played sparingly for about two weeks on WTMX in Chicago. But ultimately it was a big bust for them too.

Anyway, enough of these charts. Time for Rick to bring back the weekly charts next week! :)
