Snow Patrol "Run" Muse "Starlight" I'm guessing you saw these on my list. I'll never understand why these weren't at least Top 5 here and at least Top 20 on CHR.

Sara Mclachlan's "Fallen". The song only made it to #15, right? Reached #5 in December 2003. Oh... I didn't know that. Thanks.

Maroon 5 - Won't Go Home Without You The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved (maybe the re-release will be!) Sara Bareilles - Bottle It Up V.V. Brown - Shark In The Water I definitely agree with "Bottle It Up", though she's making for that with "King Of Anything". As it has appeared to peak, I will add "Like You Do" by Angel Taylor, a song I have been touting for awhile now. #17 is not a bad peak, but this should have been a slam dunk top 10 hit easily!

Maroon 5 - Won't Go Home Without You Geesh, this went to #3 Hot AC. If anything, I'd say this song had no business doing as well as it did in this format (in my humble opinion, it was rather dry).

Snow Patrol "Run" Muse "Starlight" Hey, I know you! Definitely agree r/ Starlight, although I'd add "Just Say Yes" and "Shut Your Eyes" to the list of songs that should have done really well in HAC.

I was interning at Columbia Records in the radio promo dept. when they were pushing this song. I can tell you that they tried and tried but radio wanted none of it. Good track though. Thanks for the memory! I'll add Candice Alley "Fallin'" and "Before You Go."

Thanks for the memory! I wonder if it would've worked a few years later (maybe in 1998-1999), when it could've been marketed to Modern Hot ACs Seems like in 1996 when it came out most Hot ACs were still pretty conservative, and I guess the song was too intellectual/political for CHR Really glad someone else remembers it though!

"Can I Hold You" by Colin Hay.
It came out before Hot AC was around, but it's the time of song Hot AC would have jumped on.

Is anyone else amused that Need You Now was included in the early part of the thread?

^I am.
I'm going to add "Bite Your Tongue" by Duncan Sheik. I can't believe radio completely missed that one.

Hedley - Perfect Ryan Star - Start a Fire - Hedley made it to #25 and Ryan is #20 right now. Personally, I thought both should have been Top 5 hits easily. They're fantastic Hot AC songs.

3 Doors Down- "Your Arms feel Like Home" You're so right on that one! It's one of my favourites off their self-titled '08 release. I wish they would have released it as a single. It was so stupid not to when it's got hit written all over it. Grrr.

Creed- "Rain" Kid Rock- "Born Free" Phoenix- "1901" +1 for these - don't think Born Free has gone for adds (not sure if they've decided to send it...) As far as 1901, there was a station in St. Louis that was experimenting with a Hot AC/Alternative hybrid (they played the Hot AC Top 10 AND the Alternative Top 10), but they just flipped to stupid 90s Gen X radio a couple days ago >:(

You can tell I'm more in the rock side, or the Modern AC side (I love stations like 100.5 The Drive in Rochester, or the now defunct 100.3 The Sound in STL.
I'm sure I'm missing some and I'll think of some more. Some of those songs were more "I like them, why aren't they hits?" songs, and some probably charted, but I forgot how high they landed.
