And we also have a special edition of "AT40: The '90s" from 7/3/1999. I'm really hoping that there'll be at least one other station that'll air this since WPNC will be airing it in the very early morning hours on Saturday.

I just tuned into WSQL and it is finishing up a broadcast of Casey doing the #1 songs of the 80s. He is in 1988 right now. He said that several weeks ago they started the show doing the #1s of the 1980s. I'm unfamiliar with any such show. Is that something that Casey did or someone else put together? When was it broadcast? Will we ever hear that again?
Now he has passed Aug 1988 and is continuing on and ended at 10/15/1988
This must have been something that Ken Martin put together.

Bad WPNC!! Actually, WPNC cut the first segment of Hour #4 of the 1979 show (because they just have to air that stupid preacher's sermon that they always air during the day even during AT40 marathons) causing it to end early and thus the 1985 and 1999 shows started early. I listened to that 1979 show and it's a good thing I caught that so I had to adjust my recording accordingly for the 1999 show.

What aired last week was just a special bonus show that Premiere frequently offers around holidays such as July 4, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. I have heard that iHeart Radio's all-classic AT40 station may soon start airing Casey's March 1998-January 2004 AT40s, in addition to the 1970-1988 ones it plays.

That'd be fun!
It'd be fun to hear those episodes on the air on a local radio station too. I get that 90s and early 2000s countdowns probably wouldn't have the same pull as 70s and 80s one do (they'd probably be a bit more niche) but there's something fun about turning on the radio Saturday mornings and hearing Casey countdown the hits. I try to tune into the 80s one when I can, though I'm less interested in 80s music but if any of the 90s countdowns aired, I'd probably make it a point to tune in.

The "B" show this week is from 7/17/1976. Here is an edited repost: [...] Of note: Premiere has replaced Bob Marley's "Roots, Rock, Reggae" as the Hour #3 extra with "Say You Love Me" even though nobody from Fleetwood Mac died recently (Christine McVie died in 2022 but the other main members AFAIK are still alive). Might wonder why they ever featured that Marley song in the first place. Guessing because it was his highest charting single on the Top 100 (#51). But, given the box office success of "Bob Marley: One Love" released earlier this year, I'm surprised they replaced it for this airing.

The next two 1980s shows are June 13, 1981 and June 14, 1980. The former will give me a badly-needed addition for June 1981, a month from which I’ve only heard one countdown so far, and the latter will get me one away from completing June 1980. Since both aforementioned shows are from the early 1980s, they will be paired with “B” shows from later in the decade. The two “B” shows I hope to hear are June 16, 1984 and June 20, 1987. I’m one away from completing June 1984 and June 1987, and those two shows are the ones I’m missing from each. It helps that we haven’t heard a show from 1984 or 1987 in more than a month now. The last 1984 show was May 5, 1984. The last 1987 show was April 11, 1987. Going forward through the rest of the summer, these are the shows that’d help me out the most by week… June 29 weekend: June 26, 1982 / June 29, 1985 July 6 weekend: July 5, 1986 July 13 weekend: July 18, 1981 / July 16, 1988 July 20 weekend: July 21, 1984 July 27 weekend: July 26, 1980 / July 30, 1983 August 3 weekend: August 7, 1982 / August 3, 1985 August 10 weekend: August 11, 1984 August 17 weekend: August 15, 1981 / August 17, 1985 August 24 weekend: August 27, 1983 August 31 weekend: August 30, 1986 So far this year, Premier Radio Networks has done a good job of choosing the shows I need, so I hope they can keep up the good work through the summer.
So far, the shows have been pretty helpful for me this summer. Here's what's actually happened...
June 1 weekend: June 4, 1983
June 8 weekend: June 13, 1981 / June 2, 1984
June 15 weekend: June 14, 1980 / June 18, 1988
June 22 weekend: June 20, 1987
June 29 weekend: June 29, 1985
July 6 weekend: July 9, 1983
July 13 weekend: July 16, 1988
Hopefully Premier Radio Networks will choose July 5, 1986 next year, especially since July 5 will be on a Saturday.
The next two weeks have July 21, 1984 and July 31, 1982 on the docket, both of which are helpful for me. I hope the 'B' show for July 31, 1982 is July 26, 1986.
As for August, the only change I'm making is August 2, 1980 in place of August 7, 1982 for the weekend of August 3. Also, I can go with either August 17, 1985 or August 15, 1987 as the 'B' show to August 15, 1981 for the weekend of August 17.

7/27/1974 is Larry Morgan's birthday. Did he mean he was born on 7/27/1974, that would make him 50 or just July 27?
Casey said he was going to give out their address at least once a show as they were getting more requests for the address. How could they get requests for the address unless people had the address to request that?
Casey said he was 152 lbs.

The 7/26/1986 show had a LDD to someone at Fort Benning GA. (Now renamed to Fort Moore) I haven't taken a count but I've heard Fort Benning GA mentioned in many LDDs. I was living in Columbus GA so the location meant something to me.
Also for the 80s A show, this is the 2nd week that WWIS did not have any problems with its signal. They must have fixed something.

June 1 weekend: June 4, 1983 June 8 weekend: June 13, 1981 / June 2, 1984 June 15 weekend: June 14, 1980 / June 18, 1988 June 22 weekend: June 20, 1987 June 29 weekend: June 29, 1985 July 6 weekend: July 9, 1983 July 13 weekend: July 16, 1988 Hopefully Premier Radio Networks will choose July 5, 1986 next year, especially since July 5 will be on a Saturday.
Here's what I've predicted since May, versus what's actually happened: Week | Predicted 'A' Show

Correct guesses are shaded in GREEN. Half-correct guesses are shaded in LIGHT GREEN. Wrong guesses are shaded in RED. Wrong guesses that help me out anyway are shaded in PINK. Half-correct guesses are defined either as shows which were predicted as 'B' shows but ended up being 'A' shows instead, or shows that were predicted for the wrong week. Wrong guesses that help me anyway can either be shows that I haven't heard yet, or shows that I have heard but do not have Shazams for. Here are my predictions for August, September, and October:
Week | Predicted 'A' Show
| Predicted 'B' Show
| August 10

NOTE: August 8, 1981 is officially the 'A' show next weekend, so I listed it even though I wrongly guessed August 11, 1984 as the 'A' show. Since it's an early-1980s show, I'm now guessing that August 11, 1984 will be the 'B' show next weekend.
