Look at it THIS way; if this averages maybe 5 spins per day over those 75 stations that added it, that's somewhere around 375 spins per day. Obviously, this won't happen IMMEDIATELY, but having now added the song, should all of those stations then begin to put it in rotation, its 8th day could well be only a -375 or thereabouts, since at that point its daily spins over those 75 stations would be about half of its overall spins on its first day. Should that 375 guesstimate carry over to the following days (where the first-week spins were so comparitively low) then this will only see one day of spin losses at best, and resume moving up the chart with a healthy bullet. This isn't even factoring in the other stations that HAVEN'T added the song, and might just be playing it anyway. Did I call it or did I call it? Of course that's just the past 2 updates, there's still the second week to get through yet.

Thanks for the updates. I'm not too worried about iTunes because as it continues to get massive (I hope) updates it will stabilize on iTunes. This is just the beginning. :)

This will be huge but pinks try might be stiff competition. Too bad psy will likely hog radio iTunes and hot 100 #1s for the foreseeable future. Gangnam style is cool but sucks when a song just blocks the top spot for months and months which it's likely to do.

Excellent update! Glad this is taking off the last couple of days pretty nicely - should be able to dampen some of the effects of the 8th day effect tomorrow.

If it keeps getting these kind of updates, its iTunes position will stabilize on its own.

Normally not a fan of her runs, but that run she does layered on top of the last chorus is fantastic.
So glad this song is being received well on radio! She might need a second hit to get the general public "into" her again, but this is setting her up nicely.

#11 on iTunes. I wonder if they'll do a new clip of the music video on The Voice to give it another boost or something.

It's around about where I'd expected it to be for the 8th day effect. :) 742 spins on day 1 versus 330 spins on day 8 (which accounts for the -412 spin loss).

I wouldn't worry about its iTunes performance unless it falls out of the top 20, if does its just obviously not clicking with people + needs more promo.
She's going to have to work hard for a successful comeback, her last album was a bomb of epic proportions.

This really is freefalling now. Down to #16.
This better stay in the top 40 at least. It wouldn't surprise me if they kept promoting the song on The Voice somehow...every week.

Just like we didn't need updates every time it rose a few positions, we don't need updates every time it falls a position or two. ;)

Unless this gets to like #25 by the end of the day, I don't think it's that worrying. It doesn't seem to be patterning NMT's legendary decline as yet.
Anyway, this is ok. It's better than NMT but it doesn't give me a good BOP yet. For someone like her, I wouldn't go the heavy electro-dance route again but maybe she's just using this to ease back into radio and the rest of the album will sound different. Especially now that more organic pop sounds are getting popular (Adele), she could utilize her voice beneficially in that direction rather than having to cling to an image she doesn't really have.

Wow, I actually thought this would do better than its current (and rapidly trending downward) iTunes performance. I didnt mind NMT but could see why people would think this is better. Its not bad, is catchy enough etc..but there's just something contrived and lacking in the overall flow of the song. Its like shes trying too hard to have this anthem esp. when she belts during the main chorus. But it's nor organic and smooth. I could see people getting turned off while others loving it. While most (on here) seem to love it, its outside of here that counts and most people aren't coming in droves to buy this (at least yet) so something isn't working right w/ the song. I think it's a very over the top, gay club/bar super friendly kind of song. I respect her for maybe having them in mind and doing her thing, but I don't think beyond that (objectively) it lacks some crossover appeal. Still, I really thought it would be doing better than this at this point in sales (at LEAST still top 10) Sorry to say, but also I truly think a LOT of people just don't like her personally. Have to say I like the song waaay more than her as a person lol

I would say staying in the top ten for a few days based on a commercial that was less than 15 seconds and only shown once a pretty good achievement. Clearly the interest is there if it sold so well with so little going for it. We can't judge how well it connects with people based on 1 week of (good) sales. We could at least wait until they debut the music video. Geez people it's like clockwork. Anytime something bad happens for a song "OMG FLOP, THIS WAS A MISTAKE, CAREER IS OVER, ETC. ETC.". We do it for every single, could we just sit back and for once give something a chance? /endrant

I never expected an instant smash I guess like other people did/do. Her last 2-3 singles and album were all massive flops not even flirting with gold. I think this is going to be relatively slower and will take some time to become a hit. I am not sure if she has that time, unfortunately, but I won't shriek flop in a week after release.
I will be concerned if it drops by No Doubt's single did. That one fell really low and never picked up. That never bodes well for a single's overall success.

Most people aren't even aware Christina has a new song out. I've heard this once on the radio last Friday and that was it so far.
Will she be allowed to perform this other places after her debut performance on "The Voice"? I don't know what kind of contract she has with "The Voice," but she needs to get out and start promoting this song next week. With competition of Rihanna, Ke$ha and others around the corner, she's going to have to work extra hard at pushing this song.

In the album thread someone mentioned her doing a lot of LA related promo, like Leno and Ellen. But that's supposed to be the coming months.

So they're going to wait for the album release to go full force on the promo?
A successful first single is the best promo in the world and what Christina needs right now. I hope the video release helps this stabilize on iTunes and therefore keeps the spins coming at radio. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Viewers of The Voice would be aware she has a single out- and that's some 12m-13m viewers right there. And, it is top 40 at pop radio, so it's not like it's getting no airplay. People should realize that she doesn't have the amount of instant interest in her that, say, her fellow former Mousketeer has (using her as a comparison, as they're around the same age). Look how her last single sold out of the gate, compared to "Your Body."
It is too early to declare this single a dud. Though The label probably will release a ballad as the second single. We probably won't see a "Beautiful"-like success
