It's iTunes position is now more reflecting its radio position rather than the songs initial debut. It'll go back up on iTunes as it climbs in radio.

Mr. Know It All dropped pretty quickly on iTunes for a bit before recovering with promo and, eventually, the album release, which is the week it made it to #10 on the Hot 100. This song may perform similarly, though it seems more in line with pop radio so I thought it would do a bit better, but that'd still be a good start for her as long as she has another hit waiting in the wings.

I expected this. There's only so much the voice can do. It will cause an early sales spike, but then its up to radio airplay to give it longevity. its doing fine. If airplay stays strong, the song will rise again. A performance will give the song a nice push for a few days, but again, longevity comes down to airplay.

I think this will be like Give Your Heart A Break. Great airplay with poor digital sales unless radio suddenly stops playing the song.
Let's see if the video and performances help the song.

How Clear Channel owns hundreds of stations, Cumulus is like a smaller version of Clear Channel. They own several stations, just much less.

No one seems to know when this performance is happening. lol At this point, I think they should wait another week or two and let the airplay continue to grow. A performance at that point could give it that extra boost needed to help it explode.
I still wish she would've performed this at the VMAs.

I still wish she would've performed this at the VMAs. I know a lot of people seem to disagree, but I thought this should have been rush-released as soon as it leaked. Worst case scenario, Christina's team could still send out a second single with a lot of time to build before the album release. Instead they just let this song sit around for a month and let all the initial buzz for it die. By the time it was released, there seemed to be no hype or promotion for the song other than a preview for the music video on The Voice. And with this just being released in the past week, there may not be much time for a second single before the album is expected to come out. Of course, I'm going off on a big rant when this song is doing just fine right now.  |
