Videos don't have any impact on radio at all.
Anyways, no need to worry about airplay just yet. I'm sure it'll start gaining momentum in the coming week.

lol while I think the song is kind of hot, catchy enough and not 'bad', aside from here, the mainstream public (and now possibly radio) are clearly lukewarm to this, if not totally indifferent to this. I dunno if its the song or X-Tina herself. I think it may be the latter more than the song.

It could be both, I mean the song is catchy but it doesn't really stand out enough for her and I think she may be at the point where she needs more than just a 'safe' hit. She needs something iconic or signature to get people's attention.

This is still doing very well. I'm sure it's getting to the point where all the songs seem to hit the make it or break it point. There's a lot of things backed up in the 11-20 region. The stupid pre-top 10 curse seems to be dripping into a pre-top 15 curse. This was gaining like crazy, so its spins have got to be the same of those in that region, since this is already #21 and still gaining quickly.
I have no worries about it yet. It's still doing very well.

Perhaps the word mixup was done on purpose? Part of the tongue-in-cheek quality? The video isn't bad; perhaps a little too cutesy with the "kills," but, like I said before, she's not as "bad-ass" as she'd like to think she is, so it wasn't going to be too explicit in that sense. Someone had commented that her looks in the video aren't far off from how she really dresses- but, obviously, she doesn't live in a trailer park, so that's poking some fun there. Strangely, I find myself singing, "oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh..." Am I being reeled in?  (I actually was listening to the Keeps Gettin' Better CD the other day) |

I hope they start rolling out some actual promo soon. Like, her performing the song somewhere and not a bunch of press junkets and random interviews. I'm not all that worried yet, but it is disconcerting to see the song still not back in the top 30 even with all the positive buzz from the video.
That said, I can't believe the reaction here on Pulse. Going on 8 years in February and I've never seen such a unified and POSITIVE response to something Christina has done. Keep it up. ;)

The airplay seems fine to me so far. Again, I never really expected it to become an immediate hit flying up like the biggest most recent pop stars out there. The Itunes position still concerns me a bit, but we will see where it stands once a bit more airplay gets out and once the video has some time to get around. Hopefully, it will stay at least steady. It would suck if it started to drop again.
2 millionish views for basically a day is pretty good for her too. I believe NMT only got like...less than 10 million views total for its entire run :X Should fairly easily beat that, yes?

there is definitely something to be said about a video that has a rewatchable factor. This is clearly one of them. I'm glad it's not some 10-minute long movie that's all drawn out.

When's the last time a song went Top 5 on Pop radio without strong digital sales support? I'd love to see radio continue to support this song even if the iTunes position doesn't pick up. But I know we don't live in that world anymore. I'm not buying the single because I want to buy the album when it comes out.
