How much has "Give Your Heart A Break" sold?
It had been out forever when it was peaking at raido.
I admit it should of at least been top 15- 20 when it was peaking but hadn't it racked up lot of sales before that?

Is there too much competition out there with Rihanna and Ke$ha and Taylor etc. ? the Video enough should help it significantly on the charts once it hits iTunes and TV. I can't get enough of the video.

Wasn't this played as an extra or breakout on AT40 last week? I don't recall seeing it anywhere on this week's list, so if it was played last week but not this week that's a whole chunk of spins just gone, hence the low spincrease and bullet crash.

They need to show the video on "The Voice" or at least show a 1 minute clip to boost sales. This is back down to #33 on iTunes, so clearly the video isn't convincing people to go buy it.

This song badly needs the performance on The Voice to increase exposure. If that only temporarily improves its iTunes performance then song clearly isn't connecting with the public well enough.

Lovato hadn't really scored any big hits prior to her latest, though, so a little different for that one.
i do think that she is off-putting to some, with her personality/style. That shouldn't impact whether one likes the music or not, but...

I think the video actually helped more than I usually see with videos. There are a few exceptions or big ticket artists (like the ones mentioned by Codex) but usually I see very little change when videos debut. Like, a five spot difference on Itunes or 1-2 depending on where the song is. I am ok with a 15 spot jump for her for the video. I do think she needs/needed a big promotional push to get this song to catch on though. I find it amusing that a lot of people wanted her to release in the Fall instead of Spring because of the "neverending promotional opportunities the Fall gives her" and then her only promo so far outside of a video was showing a 20 second clip of the video on The Voice  Like, come on Christina's team. Christina had a huge flop last time. You have to re-introduce her almost like she is a new artist. I mean, I feel like Kelly promoted MKIA non-stop for six months and that is why it eventually became a hit after a slow, slow start and a drop down to the 70s on Itunes. But, maybe they have some huge promotional push planned that we just don't know about yet :/ |
