Cool thread and such a valuable resource! Just a word of advice, I saw the Swon Bros and Jackie Lee still haven't been updated on the front page. Just thought I would help! :)

RPM signed a new male group called Chasin' Crazy.
Also while checking out RPM's site there's a link to Tate Stevens' website under their artists page, did he sign with them?
One more thing does anybody know if Canaan Smith or Randy Montana are still with Mercury? I loved Randy's debut album and Canaan's first single but both have been quiet for more than a year now and I'm getting worried they've been dropped.
Last edit I promise, I never looked into Curb's Mo Pitney but I was going through all the newer artists who've yet to launch any singles and I have to say I'm really really impressed with him, I'm hoping Curb can pull off one of their rare successes with him. I doubt they will cause they've tried so many times. Then again even they get a home run every now and then.

I think they are prepping for a new single "I Could Get Into That' soon.

He's been in the studio and writing, but as of now there are no plans to release a single. Hopefully next year.

Heard Greg Bates was dropped. Uhg!..really? That is unfortunate. Nobody should have a top 5 hit, and not get a full length album out. "Fill In The Blank" was one of the saving graces of 2013, and couldn't get top 40, so I guess that one single flopping was good enough for Republic Nashville to get rid of him...I still think "Brothers" was a huge song waiting to happen.

I asked Canaan on Facebook if he was still with Mercury and he said yes. I think they are prepping for a new single "I Could Get Into That' soon.
Yay! I really liked "We Got Us" and I was hoping he'd get another single. He reminds me of Marcel Chagnon a lot and he's another artist that I thought Mercury needed to push harder. Hopefully his next single will do well. :) Randy is still with Mercury. He's been in the studio and writing, but as of now there are no plans to release a single. Hopefully next year.
Also great to hear, he's really talented and it'd be a shame to see him not get at least one more shot. Honestly Mercury has a really strong group of artists but none of them seem to be really doing much. Hopefully the label can start getting success with somebody soon. (Ignoring Billy Currington of course. ) Heard Greg Bates was dropped. I hope this isn't true, I don't get why Big Machine gives up on artists so fast, he obviously had something going for him if he was able to get into the top 5. Too bad they needed 2 hits before putting out an album. :(

Found this was I was reading over an article on nashville scene:Label: Hit Red Artist: Brian Nutter Type of Songs Sought: "He is the first artist on Keith Urban’s new label." From that same article it seems like Kristen Kelly is still with Arista cause at the bottom of the article it says the info was from the end of september. I mean she could've left after that but she could aslo still be there right? Also nice to see Mickey Guyton has already cut 13 songs. There seems to be another female over at sony called Carly Pearce as they're also looking for songs for her. It say's an Allison Krauss meets Linda Rondstat type songs which sounds interesting. I quite enjoy this one too... Label: Curb Artist: Lee Brice Type of Songs Sought: "Already cut a few sides. Still looking hits." / "Mid-ups-no Georgia, Dirt Roads, Trucks, Tractors, or Tailgates" Then Ashley Gearing is mentioned which means Curb hasn't given up on her yet. Finally Savannah Keyes was still with Valory as of the publication of this article too, so I wonder when she'll turn up on their website?

Not to overload this with Ashley Gearing news, but she did just tweet this:
Just had a very exciting meeting with label about the 2014 AG music launch... Are you ready for this America? #excited #newAGmusic

I recently -- just like within the last week or so -- discovered this girl's music on YouTube and I fell in love. I think she has a remarkable voice and I found myself really enjoying all of the songs on her debut album that I was able to find audio for (there were maybe 1 or 2 I couldn't find). So, this announcement comes as a pleasant surprise! I definitely look forward to hearing more from this girl, because I believe she has a lot of potential.

Found this was I was reading over an article on nashville scene:Label: Hit Red Artist: Brian Nutter Type of Songs Sought: "He is the first artist on Keith Urban’s new label." Good find! Yes, Hit Red is Keith's own label that he's had for the last couple of years now. It would seem that he re-structured his deal with Capitol to be through his own Hit Red Records "under exclusive license to Capitol Records Nashville". Quite a few big name artists have their own labels under license to the big labels...Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Reba, Tim McGraw. There are a few newer artists that have a small label/big label deal, notably Gloriana, The Farm, and the Josh Abbott Band. This was a really cool link to read--thanks for posting. It's interesting that Keith has apparently signed a young artist to his label. I love some of the descriptions under "type of songs sought". Apparently Tim McGraw is only in the early stages of a new album, so hopefully that means one more single from Two Lanes Of Freedom. Lee Brice's next album sounds promising--no Georgia, dirt roads, trucks, tractors, or tailgates. That comment alone has me excited. Aldean wants his next album to have more party songs on it, though. I love the descriptions for Randy Montana and Easton Corbin, and James Dupre sounds like he could be a really promising artist.

Kira has been pretty big up here for the last year or so, and I've got to see her and meet her twice now. She's really great live, lots of energy and she sounds like her recordings. I'm surprised that Sony Nashville didn't sign her since she's signed to Sony Canada up here. Hopefully they put out new music though cause even though her first album was good I'm ready for new music now and don't want it to be a re-release. She'll also be a much better representitive for Canada than Dallas Smith is judging by his first single.

He messes it up a bit, but saves it at the end.

I was looking on the new issue of Country Aircheck and came across an ad by Columbia Nashville sending holiday greetings. I noticed a new face to their artist roster. Does anyone know who this is? Not really a new name ;) But I can see why it would cause some perplexity. Kenny Chesney, Kelly Clarkson, Tyler Farr, Casey James, Leah Turner

Looks like Bush Hawg have exited RCA Nashville as they're no longer listed on the website. RedBow has a new artist on their site, David Fanning. Also Chuck Wicks has signed with Blaster

Is Rose Falcon still with Show Dog-Universal Music? She is such a talented artist!!!! Afraid not. Though if she was still with them, it wasn't like they were going to be able to make her happen. Showdog is struggling to even keep Toby Keith's career afloat, let alone break new artists (though it's had trouble in that department for a long time; it's really nothing new).

Josh Thompson is Top 30 with his latest "Cold Beer With Your Name On It" and they should get more traction with Joel Crouse in the new year. Toby's radio career is getting 'sporadic' but hardly in danger of falling off a cliff or something.

I found this in today's country aircheck. It has something for Big and Rich as well as Martina. Is this something like a label or just something solely in distributing and getting the music out there? In Martina's case not B & R's.
» Label Makers: "Big" Kenny Alphin and John Rich have formed Big & Rich Records and will release their fifth studio album in the coming months. They've also partnered with Kobalt Label Services and New Revolution to support the project. It's the second country signing for Kobalt (Martina McBride), a company which allows artists greater control over music releases, distribution and marketing. New Revolution will oversee radio promotion. "2014 is a new milestone for us," Alphin and Rich say. "We're completely invigorated to be working with Kobalt and New Revolution and taking this new approach for this exciting album. The music is very fresh, and we're in a new creative groove which we hope our fans and new audiences will like." The first single "Look At You" from the currently untitled album will ship to radio soon.

Big & Rich Form Label, Partner With Kobalt Label Services For Upcoming AlbumLong known for their genre-bending brand of Country Music (without prejudice), Big & Rich has announced today that they'll be releasing new music this year through their own label (Big & Rich Records) in partnership with Kobalt Label Services. Kobalt, which is also handling distribution of Martina McBride's next album and new label (Blackbird Records), will distribute the duo's first album outside of Warner Bros. Nashville, who released Hillbilly Jedi in 2012. "2014 is a new milestone for us," Alphin and Rich say. "We're completely invigorated to be working with Kobalt and New Revolution and taking this new approach for this exciting album. The music is very fresh, and we're in a new creative groove which we hope our fans and new audiences will like." The label partnership will also include New Revolution for radio promotion of the singles from the upcoming album, starting with lead single "Look At You." When Martina's new album was announced, it was simultaneously announced that Martina was launching her own record label named Kobalt Records. So I think that means it is a record label, but it is brand new so nobody knows how big it is going to try to be or anything at this point. I kind've assumed it was just something small that Martina and her husband wanted to do so that she could continue pursuing her career without worrying about radio. Maybe they are going to partner with other small labels to help promote records though, like Big & Rich records? Who knows! It sounds pretty cool either way.
