Wow I guess Big Machine is accepting a top 10 miss for "Back Together." I'm shocked! I figured they'd pull some big rabbit out of their hat!
But this song, judging from the clip, should take her back into the top 10.

I guess it's "smart" of Borchetta to pull that Clear Channel deal for WANEGBT to squeeze out the highest position possible on country charts (and a chart debut record). He knows there's no way it will be able to climb up much on its own.

But this song, judging from the clip, should take her back into the top 10. Bottom line: Big Machine (and Taylor Swift) overreached. They thought by servicing a Max Martin-produced track to Country radio would guarantee them another Top Ten at least. Turns out listeners have their pop-sensible limitations. It's a relief to hear they're at least wise enough to realize they're drawing blind for further success with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and it is time to fold that hand. And hopefully this won't be the track on the album that has the "dubstep breakdown". ;) Namaste, Noah Hibiscus Eaton

It's not, as you can see from the preview. I still believe "Never Ever" could've climbed a bit more, and with a push gotten inside the top 10, but I'm glad they didn't go this way. It would only make things worse for her in country radio. Hopefully this song will get her to the top, though we haven't listened yet.

Finally!!! It sounds really neat based on the clip; this should easily return her back to the top 5 here. Keep the country hits comin', girl!

I predict a top 3 peak for this at the very least. Hoping for a number 1!

I knew this would happen... some of you jumped all over me when I talked about it over a month ago! Taylor's debut near the top 10 could end up being her peak, or very close to it. I wouldn't be surprised if she pulled the single early (like Kenny did) and they sent out a new single to country radio. Makes perfect sense for them to finally send a country song out to country radio, and I'm happy, because "Begin Again" sounds like a nice song based on the clip. :)

I don't know what to think about WANEGBT being pulled but if this is as great as everyone is saying... I'll get over it.

The clip sounds really promising. I loved WANEGBT, but I'm just as happy to see them moving on to something countrier, which will be met with less resistance at radio here, since the song has already accomplished its true goal of breaking her back in at CHR/Pop radio and netting her accolades such as a top country debut and a #1 Hot 100 hit.

I was hoping that they'd push "Never Ever" to the top 10, and I think that it would have made it, but it makes more sense to have two big hits (one pop, one country) out when the album drops. It seems that a million plus album debut is their main goal, and this should help them achieve it.

I love the whole song. Its much more mature of a song for her age! Also Country should take to this easily! Top 5 by the New Year? We'll see!

I like this. First song since "You Belong With Me" that I've liked by her.

Am I wrong in thinking that other than Mean, this is the most country-oriented song she's released since her debut?

Hmm...I have mixed feelings about We Are Never ending its country run. On one hand, no it's not really country. But...if Begin Again cuts into We Are Never's airplay, that could help lower We Are Never's total longevity/Radio Songs peak.
The song is beautiful and makes sense as a country song though.

But I would also consider Back To December as one of her more country songs since her debut. I still think that's her best song to date. Musically and lyrically speaking. Having said that, I have yet to Begin Again in its entirety.

This is kinda like a sequel/flip side to The Way I Loved You. That song is about how nice and good for her her current guy is, but how she doesn't feel sparks fly the way it did when she was with her last boyfriend with whom she was screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain, so in love that she acted insane.
While this one is about how glad she is that her current guy is nice and considerate, and she appreciates that she might find love again, with someone who treats her well this time.

Listening to "Never Ever" and this song just shows how diverse the new album will be!

I don't think Never Ever was really doing anything on country radio. It was stuck with next to no gains and only moving up because songs above it were falling or going recurrent. If this is the song that would sell the album to country listeners, then I think they made the right decision. The lyrics.

This reminds me a little of "Fifteen" production-wise, but this is obviously going to be much bigger. It reminds me of Fifteen too. A bit of Tim McGraw as well (early Taylor, basically) in terms of her soft vocal delivery. I LOVE this song. Her best country single since... Fearless era for me. Sincere, relatable, sweet/bittersweet and slightly more mature. This is what Taylor does best - not the pop stuff, imo. More of this, less of WANEGBT please.
