Sorry I want Kelly to grow into a artist, while people still want her to sing the same song time and time again lol. CMB shows lyrical growth, but certainly not sonic growth.

OK. With all this more controversial talk about her future, I came up with a fun game about her past.
If you could create a 12-track album featuring any of the songs from any of Kelly's five albums - discounting the songs released as singles in the past, how would that look? And which songs would you pick as the five singles to promote the campaign?
Basically - pick your fantasy album, and fantasy singles from that album using songs that were never released as singles. Can be themed, random, whatever! Mine?
1) Alone (First single) 2) Gone (Second single) 3) Addicted (Third single) 4) The Day We Fell Apart (Fourth Single) 5) The War Is Over (Fifth Single) 6) Maybe 7) Just Missed The Train 8) Save You 9) Hello 10) You Love Me 11) Anytime 12) Irvine

I just want Kelly to sing songs that she can just wail on (I think that's the right word). Like 7 Nation Army, Home, or even like Heavy in Your Arms. I just want something that can really show off her voice.

I wanna play! Buuut is this, like, her debut album then or what? I guess that's reading too deeply into it. If I could create a fantasy perfect album, it would take place after she won Idol and came out with Thankful (whoops, there goes any songs from that album) because I'm super hung up on that I-found-more-fame-than-I-bargained-for side of her: Breakaway01. One Minute [1st single] 02. You Can't Win [2nd single] 03. Hear Me 04. Honestly 05. Irvine 06. Save You [4th single] 07. Ready 08. Gone [3rd single] 09. Hello [5th single] 10. You Love Me 11. Maybe 12. Beautiful Disaster (live) Grammy's everywhere. (I really wanted the album title to be Hear Me but couldn't find a good picture and this Breakaway one was the dark look I was going for and the pic is obv iconic so.)

Album Title: Tip of My Tongue
o1.) "The Day We Fell Apart" (Single #1) o2.) "Let Me Down" (Single #2) o3.) "One Minute" o4.) "Tip of My Tongue" (Single #3) o5.) "Why Don't You Try" o6.) "The War is Over" (Single #5 o7.) "Gone" o8.) "If I Can't Have You" o9.) "Just Missed the Train" 10.) "How I Feel" (Single #4) 11.) "Save You" 12.) "You Love Me" 13.) "Maybe"
A bit of a more rhythmic affair, shows off her versatility while also sticking to a pop/rock/R&B vibe.

^ But you forgot Timeless, so that can't be right! I really like Timeless. In my college apartment I was drinking with friends in the kitchen and my roommate and her friends were watching FJ2K and that scene came on and I started singing along as if it were something not nearly so shameful, like, SUBG. They muted the movie and screamed from the living room, "Is someone singing along to this song?" Died. I haaaaaate Justin's voice on it (but get a kick out of watching him butcher the ever-loving shit out of it on that one live performance) but Kelly sounds gorgeous and I kinda like it too.

Going off of Kelly's track record, If I Can't Have You is the only song not released that would be a surefire hit, so releasing it first works perfectly. Everything else would be pretty risky.

I would have the non-single singles like this:
1. I Forgive You (I'm still pissed off at this never getting released. This coulda been 1st off Stronger) 2. If I Can't Have You (the "should have been" 4th single from AIEW) 3. Cry (this would've been huge had Already Gone not existed) 4. Let Me Down 5. Beautiful Disaster (just for my own selfish reasons)

Kind of separate to this non-singles album thing, but I really think the AIEW era should've gone like this:
1) "Already Gone" - with the first single hype and being released before Halo, it could've definitely gone Top 3, probably #1 2) "Don't Let Me Stop You" - it's as catchy IDNHU but more relatable topped off by killer vocals. With the promotion and hype of releasing her first poppy uptempo single since the Breakaway era, I think it could've gone Top 10, maybe Top 5 on the Hot 100. 3) "The Day We Fell Apart" - I think radio (Pop and HAC) would eat this up and it's one of her best uptempo songs ever. Top 10 4) "If I Can't Have You" - A change of pace from 2 uptempo rock/pop songs in a row that is different for her but very much in line with what radio was playing then. Top 20 5) "My Life Would Suck Without You" - being the biggest smash on the album, it wouldn't matter much when in the era it's released. Easy Top 3. 6) Throw out either "Cry", "I Want You", or "Long Shot" to radio. If any underperformed, it wouldn't matter much since it's a sixth single.
Am I the only one that thinks this could work? AIEW could've been huge for her imo with these singles.

Title : Alone
01. Alone - "2nd single" 02. Don't Let Me Stop You - 3rd single" 03. Gone 04. Bleed For Me - "1st single" 05. The War Is Over - 5th single" 06. Tell Me A Lie - "4th single" 07. I Forgive You 08. You Can't Win 09. The Day We Fell Apart 10. Just Missed The Train 11. You Found Me 12. Breaking Your Own Heart
I still really love all tracks from Stronger. We got only 3 tracks as singles and this is not good to her, too. Anyway these are all of my favorites except single materials and filled with full of emotions about "Alone". So I picked it up as title. XD

If I Can't Have You, Cry, Long Shot, and so on. AIEW also has great tracks as bonus tracks as Stronger does.

Assuming you're using the same time table that they did for AIEW, Beyonce's album was still out before Kelly's first single, and she released Halo as a single in January (I think a week after MLWSWY). So it actually would not have gotten out ahead of Halo, in fact they would have run right into one another and it would have been an even bigger mess. If they could have just gotten AG out ahead of Halo, I do think that could have worked. I was telling a friend a couple of weeks ago that I would have done this (forgive the lack of caps, too lazy to retype): 1. if i can't have you (jan-mar) 2. the day we fell apart (apr-june) 3. tip of my tongue (july-sept.) *4. already gone (rearranged version for radio/itunes release) (oct.-jan) 5. long shot (feb-may) 6. my life would suck without you (may-jul) *Or, AG could have been switched with Cry and I think this still could have worked. I agree that MLWSWY is an easy hit no matter when it is released which is why I saved it for last, to really end the era on a high note and also get it as close to the summer as possible. Probably would have lasted longer than the three months I gave it. I'm going to play the non-singles game a little later
