As WFAN's Mike Francesa just announced, WRXP 101.9 will become a simulcast of Sports WFAN 660 in November. All Access's headline is Merlin Sells WRXP/New York To CBS; WFAN To FM."

Bummed. And I hate that blowhard, Mike Francesa.
Crazy Randy Michaels epically failed with his FM all-news station. Now he's taking all his marbles off the board and going home.

Unbelievable. Yeah, that's what we need, more talking on FM radio. I guess CBS got spooked by ESPN moving to FM and decided to pick off the weakest link there to get back on a level playing field with them. Merlin was just gutless enough to not see this through.
I guess it was a telling sign that through 3 months, they still had only one DJ working seemingly seven days a week. Their website is still working just fine (I even registered as a "Junkie" for free concert tickets, LOL), but their Facebook page is dead as a doornail.

And they're dead. I listened to their last hours as I lay in bed in my Sandy-darkened apartment, and felt kinda sick doing so. Here's their final six songs:
Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Follow You Into the Dark Pearl Jam - Last Kiss Beastie Boys - No Sleep Till Brooklyn Semisonic - Closing Time Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye
Edit: Actually, they're still streaming music from their website, so I guess they're not 100% dead yet. Weird thing is, they're playing songs I never heard while they were on air, like "Warrior" by Kimbra and "Unity" by Shinedown.
