"With "Glad You Came" falling out, One Direction are, now, the "elder statesmen" of the chart. It'll be a brief rule as WMYB will, probably, fall off next week. Ellie Goulding hits 30 weeks while still in the top 15. If she continues her slow descent, we could be in for a long chart run."

No, One Direction went a step in the other direction, and keep their seniority for a second week. Most likely Gotye will have that distinction for at least a few weeks. Ellie Goulding, meanwhile, slowly pokes down another notch; I wouldn't be surprised to see her join the 50+ (weeks) club.

Taylor Swift moves up to #2, two weeks in advance of her guest hosting. However, judging from the Mediabase updates, it looks unlikely she'll be able to announce herself at #1, as Katy Perry once did.

Wow. It's been a while since we've had a slow week on the AT40. The biggest mover is only up by 5 spots and the four biggest droppers are only down by 3 spots.

Another week with a dropper ("Burn It Down") returning as an extra. At least that's better than the first optional extra, "My Humps".

Ryan said that "Gangnam Style" is the first foreign language top 10 hit since Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos" in 1999. I don't think "Bailamos" should count as such, though; while the song's title is in Spanish most of the lyrics are in English (at least as US pop radio played it.)

Agreed. I would, hardly, consider "Bailamos" to be a foreign language song. For my money, the last foreign language top 10 hit was Los Del Rio's "Macarena" in 1996.

But they might just give it to her. This is AT40 after all, and they have their own (unknown) rules.

Burn It Down was played in the middle of the first hour, just like last week. LOL. Ryan said that PSY is making history by hitting the top 10.
I'm thinking didn't that happen 2 weeks ago, when it first hit #10?

Lately there's been a break after 17 instead of 18. Good placement of the 241 to lengthen the 07/06 segment. Ryan said that Maroon 5 has more weeks at #1 than any other group this decade. Y-100 played the song again immediately after the show ended.
