I joined Pulse Music Board over 4 years ago. That's half the time that this board has existed. I now have made 416 posts. Only about 15 percent of the members have made more posts than I have, so I am approximately in the 85th percentile of posters. How does it make sense to call me a "new member"?

I was only using myself as an example of what I percieve as something wrong here. About 86 percent of all the members here are now considered new members, and that doesn't seem right to me. I think there should be a category between "new member" and "gold member", which could be called "advanced member". Maybe when a poster has reached 100 posts and has been here at least 3 months, he/she could be in that category.

I understand your point, but our levels are based on RIAA certifications.
500 posts = Gold member 1,000 posts = Platinum member 2,000 posts = 2x Platinum member (and so on) 10,000 posts = Diamond member
And similarly;
500,000 sales = Gold record 1,000,000 sales = Platinum record 2,000,000 sales = 2x Platinum record 10,000,000 sales = Diamond record
Albums and singles don't get certified as "advanced records" when they scan 200,000 copies, so to keep our member categories in line with the certification thresholds, it would be better to keep them the way they are. Changing "new member" to "junior member" could possibly work, though!
