F Apologies definitely didn't feel like the big "comeback" single she needed and it was enlightening to learn she didn't believe it in either but conceded for the sake of getting her album out. Why Atlantic was insistent on that being the single and then doing nothing to promote it is beyond me.
Very excited that she's reunited with Aaron, who truly champions her, and that she's doubling down on the R&B music she wants to make. I have zero expectation for major mainstream success but do hope Rhythmic will be kind to Man and whatever else she releases.

Regarding F Apologies, did JoJo confirm she dislikes it? She mentioned there were songs on the album she didn't believe in but conceded for the label. I don't remember her naming that song or saying it was her first single she was talking about.

Yeah she said it was the first single she didn't believe in. To be fair, that doesn't mean she doesn't like it, she probably just didn't think it fit her. Which, honestly, yeah. As much as I love the song it's very out of place on the album and was not at all the hard hitting track I was expecting for her return. Though, could she also be referring to When Love Hurts? |

She referenced not having put out an album out in 10 years and was desperate to have it released so she went with the label’s request; WLH wasn’t on any version of the album. Plus she said she didn’t agree with the song in question’s message, not its sound, which is what led me to believe that was the song in question. But I forgot WLH existed until now so maybe so. |

I love "When Love Hurts" and I consider it the standout out of the tringle, even though all three are pretty decent.
But I can also see her being the type of artists that feel relatively disconnected to those records not co-written by themselves.

I think she was talking about When Love Hurts, not f**k Apologies. She did say at one point that she does not agree with that song's message. And when she was asked why she did not write any of the songs on the Tringle - though she has a writing credit on Save My Soul - she said she just wanted to respect her label's idea / request since she couldn't wait any longer or something.

Yea I lean toward it being WLH. I remember when that came out, some people were upset it was a “problematic” message because of the lyrics in the chorus (“when love hurts/that’s how you know it’s real”) and how that could glamorize abuse or whatever. It could certainly be Fuck Apologies too, but yea.
Either way I like them both, but neither is really representative of her as an artist.
I’m living for that video with Mariah btw!! So good.
