Ahhh I'm so excited to hear this news! I'm so happy for JoJo to finally be free. She's had her career on hold so long; she should be huge by now. Hopefully she comes back swinging on her new label and has new heights to her career.

I'm glad she's free of her old label, but it has always been my opinion that Atlantic is one of the worst labels out there, so I guess we'll just have to see how they handle her.

In the studio with Da Internz:   She worked with Da Internz a lot for "Jumping Trains." Of all the songs they did, we've heard "Lie to Me" and a LQ snippet of "Bodyguard." She's also been in the studio with Pop & Oak, who did "The Other Chick" (it wasn't Zedd, as previously reported). Honestly, those songs weren't terrible, but everything on "Agápē" is better than all her other leaked material. A lot of her best songs were created with her friends, or some up-and-coming producers, so I hope she has the opportunity to work with them for the album, or at least see what they come up with. I also hope she works with 40 again. They did 2 other songs during the "Demonstrate" session. |

Yes Jojo Lavesque! She's garnered some INCREDIBLE connects over the years for a gawd worthy re-introduction. The Neptunes (both Chad and Pharrell with Kenna in the mix), Timbaland and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon, Danja, Da Internz , Zedd (Remix to The Other Chick), The Stereotypes, Noah "40" Shebib, The Messengers, Beau "I Abused Joss Stone" Dozier, etc, etc. Come for blood and souls Jojo!
Edit: All of these people have actively WANTED to work with her, just an FYI.

Oh my God, how did I miss that wonderful news a month ago?! I'm so incredibly ecstatic that she is finally with a good label! I'll be anxiously awaiting her return. I have a strong feeling that since "Disaster" managed a top 30 peak on pop based off of nothing, her comeback, in the correct hands, could be Miley Cyrus-sized.

She's received a lot of support from the industry over the years, from producers, other artists, and just random people that you wouldn't even think of: Even fucking Lorde Instagram'd a picture of her JoJo desktop background...lol. I knew she would be signed again based on her raw talent, but I hope she has a good A&R and team working to make this project the best it can be. I can't say that I wasn't skeptical about how she'd be received as an adult and after being away for so long, but it could work. Over the past few years, there have been resurgences of quite a few artists that hadn't had hits in years (or ever). It's not really in her character, but I would milk the shit out of being free from Blackground. That would get her a lot of publicity and interviews when it's time to promote. |

Very happy she finally got a new deal and especially with ATL. cuz they are on with Caren again. I was over there in the early '00s and things were alright but now they are back to where it should be. Joanna should do some records with HitBoy, Mustard, and James Fauntleroy/Harvey Mason Jr. Also - MikeWillMI, Pharrell, and Missy/Jazmin
