Yeah, her cover of Weak as a tween on her debut is still hot.

www.singersroom.com/content/2014-11-10/JoJo-Wrapping-Up-Third-Album-Readying-New-Single-For-Early-2015/JoJo Wrapping Up Third Album; Readying New Single For Early 2015The bad news; we didn't receive a new single from JoJo in 2014 following a new record deal with Atlantic Records late last year (Dec. 2013), but the good news is, early 2015 looks to be bright. “I’m working on my third album right now; wrapping it up… started the album in April so, really, really thrilled to finally finishing and putting out a new single early next year,” JoJo told MaximoTv at the 3rd Annual Unlikely Heroes Awards Gala. We’re sure the fans will be just fine as they anticipate JoJo’s third release -- plus, she made the wait much easier after dropping the 3-songs EP, #LoveJo, earlier this year. As far as what to expect from JoJo’s upcoming opus, she previously told ABC News, “You can expect a diverse collection of songs that help to explain me as a young… which isn’t just girl power anthems or boy-bashing songs, but it’s a wide variety of different influences." Look out for more from JoJo in the coming months.

I really think she should do an uptempo with Nic Nac. He produced "Beat It" by Breezy, "My Baby" by Zendaya, and Breezy's new single "Came To Do". It's been a while since she's done a banger.

She's literally recorded hundreds of songs over the last 8 years. There were like three variations of both "All I Want Is Everything" and "Jumping Trains." Not to mention songs that didn't make the official tracklistings. But I feel that she's more than ready now.

Better she come with that freshness than some old stale Wackground leftover shit, anyway. If she serves me those vocals she served on her covers recently (Rapture, Take Me Home, GLOOOOORYYY), then I will just be and ascended on the spot.

That doesn't surprise me, I assumed she would want to record new music anyway. One upside is that it isn't like background is ever going to have the money to release something, so if she ends up recycling themes or sounding a bit redundant, we'll never know the difference.

Couldn't she abuse the loophole though, of re-recording any tracks she REALLY wanted from the Blackground sessions? Like, does their ownership extend past the recordings themselves? I fully understand them owning the rights to any recordings she made while signed to them, but if they don't own the actual songs she should be able to take them elsewhere and make new recordings they have no claim on.

I fully understand them owning the rights to any recordings she made while signed to them, but if they don't own the actual songs she should be able to take them elsewhere and make new recordings they have no claim on. The ownership could extend past the masters. It depends on who owns the copyright to the songs, and she had a shitty enough contract that I wouldn't be surprised if all the copyrights belong to Blackground...in which case she really IS better off for not using that stuff b/c she wouldn't even be able to earn any royalties from it. Even if she could skirt around with a re-recording loophole, if I were her I would not risk it; she had to go through hell and high water just to get away from them and the last thing she needs is to gift wrap them a reason to drag her back into court over some b.s.

DAMN at "Marvin's Room (Can't Do Better)" having over 38,000,000 views. Had no idea it's that well known. Her version is still one of my favorite and most listened to songs ever. <3

If all goes according to plan, from what I'm hearing, her single *should* be dropping next month.

The smash single that never was. Truly one of the biggest missed single opportunities ever.

"This Time" and "The Way You Do Me" were my jams. Especially "The Way You Do Me" which I thought sounded like a smash at the time.

My computer didn't transfer my files of her mixtape "Can't Take That Away From Me" into my laptop, can someone PLEASE send me a link to it?? I literally cannot find it anywhere. It was available for free on RapUp back in 2010 but it's impossible to find, anyone still have it?

I still can't believe "How to Touch a Girl" was the second single. That song gives me a huge amount of nostalgia now but it made no sense as a commercial single. Like 2 posts above, "This Time," "The Way You Do Me," "Let It Rain," and "Coming for You" were the clear single options from the album.
So hyped for actual new stuff from her though. LoveJo hasn't been enough of a JoJo fix for me.

Per her manager: http://instagram.com/p/zofKHAL3Nt I'm not getting my hopes up yet because you know how things with her are, but she HAS recorded for a year. It's just time to release something. I'm actually not a fan of her manager at all. She needs some heavy hitters that can come in and meticulously plan her comeback. Her manger manages a bunch of flops.

She won't stop recording; every time she's "done", she winds up in more sessions and Atlantic keeps paying for them. I'm not saying she should rush the process but Atlantic was prepared for a 1Q single and I KNOW she's recorded enough quality material to produce single worthy material.

A new unfinished song called "Sweetest Hangover" leaked. There's no word on how old this is, but from the sound of her voice, I'm thinking it could be a year or two old....or maybe from this year.

No real news basically? To think we've been anxiously awaiting her liberation for all of these years only for nothing major to develop anyway...

No real news basically? To think we've been anxiously awaiting her liberation for all of these years only for nothing major to develop anyway... I know everyone expected JoJo to hit the ground running but she literally had to start recording from scratch and Atlantic orchestrated a million sessions because they have high expectations for this project. As far as I know, the album will be out in 2015 regardless.

They're in the mixing stages right now, but, again, we've heard it all before with her. I'm pretty sure they're still eying "What We Shouldn't Do" as the first single:

Unfortunately, I lose hope as the days go by and the buzz (outside of Pulse, although I am not entirely convinced there ever WAS a buzz outside of Pulse to begin with...) decreases. I love this girl and #LoveJoJo still levels me so I am still hoping she can deliver a great album.

The bolded is what is making me so impatient - if I didn't know she was such a workhorse when it came to recording I wouldn't think twice about her taking her time, but goodness she has probably recorded three albums worth of material by now. Knowing that Atlantic is spending that kind of time (and money) on her recording does make me hopeful that they are really trying to set her up for a big comeback, though.
